How does it work?

This tracker informs you about where Rockhopper is on Club Penguin Rewritten! From a technical perspective, each time it is loaded, it makes an API call to a spreadsheet that is updated by several people.

Whenever Rockhopper is detected and you have this tracker open, an icon will appear in the tab of your browser. You still need to refresh the tracker for this to appear, but the auto-refresh feature should help with that.

Tips for meeting Rockhopper:

  • Rockhopper usually docks on the island every three to four months.
  • When his ship, the Migrator, can be found at the Beach, Rockhopper will be visiting the island.
  • You can also see his ship from the telescope at the Beacon to know when he’s approaching.
  • As he is a medium-stamped mascot, it is not unusual to see him on popular servers such as Blizzard. However, he also sometimes goes on less populated servers

Backgrounds:

Rockhopper’s Background was the giveaway which could be obtained by meeting Rockhopper at/during the: Beta Test Party, Puffle Party 2017, Colour Vote 2017, just before the Fall Fair 2017, March/June 2017, and the 10m Players Celebration in August 2021.

Rockhopper’s Christmas Giveaway was the background which could be obtained by meeting Rockhopper at the Christmas Party, both in 2017 and 2018, and the Holiday Party 2021.

Rockhopper’s third background was available by meeting him during the Waddle on Party in March 2018, for which he visited multiple times for. It was also available when he visited in May 2018 and March 2020 (on a series of visits that extended through the Fashion Party). This background was not custom and was available on classic Club Penguin too, but it does look very cool!

Rockhopper’s fourth background, which is custom, was available by meeting him during the Island Adventure Party: Rockhopper’s Quest event. It features an island in the background, which was likely one that could have been sailed too in Rockhopper’s Quest.

Rockhopper’s fifth background was available by meeting him during the Fair in September 2018 or the Fair in September 2019.

It is also a custom background.

Rockhopper’s sixth background was available by meeting him whilst visiting in March 2019 and July 2020.

It isn’t a custom background.

Rockhopper’s seventh background was available by meeting him whilst visiting for the Island Adventure Party: Festival of Fruit in 2019. It’s called Rockhopper’s Tropical Island Background, and features a depiction of him exclusive to that party.

Rockhopper’s eighth background, his Holiday Background, was also custom. It was available when he was visiting for the Holiday Party 2019.

Rockhopper’s Jolly Giveaway, his ninth background, was available for the Holiday Party 2020.

Rockhopper’s tenth background, his Wreck Giveaway, was available at the Submarine Party in 2021. Unlike his other backgrounds, this one was confirmed not to return at subsequent events.
