CP Rewritten Times: Issue #153 – Egg Hunt

    April 8, 2020 /

There’s not been too much new information recently, but a new edition of the Club Penguin Rewritten Times has been released.

For the best experience, I would recommend reading the paper for yourself online as it always contains a variety of cool things such as artwork, but as always, I will summarise the news revealed.

There wasn’t much new information in this edition, other than the Penguin Play Awards date will be released next week, and will have a “twist” to the previous one. Other than that, a challenging Easter Egg Hunt will be released tomorrow, along with a new pin and Furniture Catalog.

Thank you very much for reading, be sure to check back for more of the latest Club Penguin Rewritten news and guides!

CP Rewritten: Summer Plans to Top Previous Years

    April 6, 2020 /

Although it’s still a while away, the team have provided a little teaser about the plans for Club Penguin Rewritten in summer, from around June to August.

This typically tends to be a fantastic time on the island. For example, in 2018, it provided the Island Adventure Party: Rockhopper’s Quest, 101 Days of Fun, the Music Jam and more! However, this year’s plans intends to top even those.

Gonna top [summer 2018] this year – I have some great ideas!

    -Joee, Club Penguin Rewritten administrator

It’s not quite known what those ideas will involve yet, but I thought this was interesting as it definitely indicates there’s a lot to look forward to in-game in summer.

Thank you very much for reading, be sure to check back for more of the latest Club Penguin Rewritten news and guides!

CP Rewritten: Secrets of the Bamboo Forest Stage Play

    April 3, 2020 /

A new Stage play has begun on Club Penguin Rewritten: Secrets of the Bamboo Forest, based on an old Chinese story where Monkey King is seeking the palace of the Phoenix Queen.

It has a variety of cool costumes in the Costume Trunk, but no secrets. However, this play does have a pin at the Mine Shack: the Gold Feather Pin.

This play is actually a bit broken. Usually, the pin would open up a bridge to allow you to access the throne, and sometimes even a new background, however this specific pin doesn’t allow for that.

In order to access that part of the Stage, you have to:

    1. Become an EPF agent so that you have the spy phone
    2. Start at the Town, and open up your EPF spy phone
    3. Select the Stage to teleport to
    4. Before you leave the Town, waddle into the Gift Shop and keep spam clicking towards the top right of your screen
    5. You should end up in that secluded bit of the Stage, but it may take a few tries

It currently seems to be the only way to access that, but the big preventing you from doing so normally should hopefully be soon.

View all Penguin Style secrets here

Page one contains several secrets: the Cocoa Bunny Ears and Outfit, the Green Hard Hat (which also has a special animation when you drill with no other clothing), the Floppy Hat and the Viking Helmet.

CP Rewritten: April Clothing Sneak Peek & Floppy Hat

    April 2, 2020 /

April Fools is now over, and it’s back to genuine news! Later today, a new Penguin Style is due to be released, and it’s likely going to contain a variety of outfits for the upcoming Penguin Play Awards.

A sneak peek was released featuring something in the catalog. It’s fairly difficult to tell what exactly it is though.

However, a more definitive piece of information was also confirmed: the Floppy Hat will be available in this catalog. It’s essentially a purple hat, as you can see in the image below.

CP Rewritten: Tom Nook Visits – 01/04/20

    April 1, 2020 /

Earlier today, for the one-day Animal Crossing Party, Tom Nook made his first appearance! Although he doesn’t have a stamp, he does have a background, and is likely to make more appearances today too.

This was an April Fools joke!

Unlike usual mascots, he didn’t wonder around the island; all of his time was spent in the exclusive Animal Crossing room.

Above are his playercard and background. Best of luck meeting him whilst he is visiting for the rest of the Animal Crossing Party!

CP Rewritten: Animal Crossing Party Guide

    April 1, 2020 /

The Animal Crossing mini-event has begun on the island for a few days before the Penguin Play Awards! This event is unusual in the sense that most of the rooms are hidden, but the team have definitely been doing things differently recently, such as with the concert.

By now, I think most people have realised that this was an April Fools joke! It was actually quite funny seeing so many people walk into the Forest trees though; I didn’t expect this prank initially to be believed! Happy April 🌻

In order to access the world, you need to waddle through the top tree at the Forest. You’ll then be transported into a new room with a different artstyle! The mechanics of the game are still the same.

If you click one of the apples in the tree above, you’ll find the Apple pin. You can also waddle to the different flowers for a furniture item. Currently, they provide the Cosmos plant which can be used in your igloo.

It is likely that the area will have more gifts during the event, particularly as we are able to build the boat to sail across the island.

This is a rather obscure and unexpected event, but a very welcome one! The team have said it’ll last for a few days, and it’s definitely likely we’ll be able to cross the water soon, so stay tuned for that.

Thank you for reading, waddle on!

CP Rewritten: In-Game Concert on Thursday

    March 31, 2020 /

It’s being called by the team “the most ambitious thing Club Penguin Rewritten has ever done”, and nobody is exactly sure how this is going to work; the only precedent for it seems to be takeovers like the Music Jam in 2014 with characters like Violetta.

On April 2nd, at 5pm PT / 8pm ET / 1am BST, a virtual concert will occur on places across the island. It should last approximately 45 minutes.

Update: regarding the date, it is likely on April 3rd BST – the team isn’t sure, but it’s based on the assumption that the group provided the date in their timezone and just transferred it over (thanks SlimF!)

If you’re worried about missing the concert, fear not! A new feature is going to be introduced just for this called room sharing which will prevent people from missing out, but you’d need to be online at the exact time.

I should note the feature will be temporary and exclusive to this event.

We’ll be introducing a new feature to Club Penguin Rewritten for the event we’re calling room sharding. This means that no matter how many people join a room they’ll be able to join in the experience and witness the event live due to multiple copies of the room.

If the concerned room is full on a server it’ll create a new copy of that room for new people to join so servers can hold as much people as possible in the live concert room.

    -Thorn, Club Penguin Rewritten administrator

I must admit, I’ve never even heard of this group before, and I’m really not sure how this will work. My understanding is that their music (a family friendly version, at least) will be played in-game, whilst characters visit.

These characters will provide items instead of a background, and will have a similar playercard to regular mascots. Trackers will be established if appropriate.

They’re the real people showing up and a live Questions & Answers [session] with some items given away if you do see them there. They’ll have a playercard but no background given away

    -stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administrator

I know that a lot of people, including myself, initially thought that this was an April Fools prank. I can assure you that it isn’t, but the details still aren’t completely clear – we’ll just need to wait until Thursday.

Thank you very much for reading, be sure to check back for more of the latest Club Penguin Rewritten news and guides!
