The Problems with Club Penguin Island

On March 29th 2017, after a journey that lasted over a decade, the web version of Club Penguin was closed down in favour of Club Penguin Island, a decision that backfired quickly with the new mobile version receiving a significant amount of “hate” and criticism, obtaining a rating of less than three stars.

However, many people do still enjoy the game, citing that going mobile only is beneficial in the long run. In this post, I will be discussing my opinion (as well of the opinions of others) about the issues with Club Penguin Island and the impact which Club Penguin Rewritten is making on the official franchise.

Full Recap & Interview of Club Penguin Island in Times Square

In case you missed it, in celebration of World Penguin Day, Megg and ZexyZek were at Times Square doing some promotion for our island.

We’re lucky enough to have a few pictures of the event, some exclusive merchandise and an interview with one of the two people in the Twitter community who attended. I would like to give a MAJOR thanks to Emeraldkik who provided most of the images in this post and allowed me to ask him a few questions!

Firstly, let’s take a look at Good Morning America, a television show in the USA which CPI was featured on. There were even three new penguin designs which the team made for the video!

Along with TV promotion, there were adverts in Times Square and the Disney Store! This is an interesting choice since you’d suspect most of the target audience would be at school but hopefully they’re still on there now.

But still, advertising for Club Penguin Island! That’s great!

Players who attended got to meet Megg and ZexyZek as well as receive some merchandise and get the opportunity to speak to them! That’s awesome and would probably be my favourite part if there was ever an event in England!

See those little emoji things? Here’s a quick look at what they’re like.

Those who attended got to keep all of the emojis as well!

Also, remember the pin which Megg got a few weeks ago? Those were given out at these event as well!

really would love to get my hands on one of those pins or emojis but I completely understand it’s an exclusive! That being said, Emeraldkik will be giving a pin away once he reaches 100 followers on Twitter. If you are 13 or older, you can follow him there!

I was also very lucky to have the opportunity to ask Emeraldkik a few questions about the event.

Q1. What was the event actually like? Was it just Megg walking around with a few Club Penguin Island adverts around?

A. The event was small it was some staff members recording things they did not have a table or anything it really was just a recording session.

Q2. What did you do?!? Were there any activities?

A. I talked to the staff and asked them questions what they thought about cpps [private servers] and other juicy things like that

Q3. How was it like to be able to meet Megg?

A. The best thing was meeting megg! She was so nice and I can report that she gives a good hug!

Q4. Do you think it successfully advertised Club Penguin Island? Were passers-by interested in what was going on?

A. They did a good job advertising. With the ad at the Disney store and over the good morning America studio

Q5. If you’d like to, anything else you’d like to say?

A. They are very sad to see Club Penguin go and they know a lot of the bugs that happened. And the next Club Penguin Island event in game will be a cars event

There it is from a visitor himself! There will be a Cars event on Club Penguin Island and Megg gives good hugs! Also, we believe that there will be an Island Insider on this event, though this isn’t confirmed.

What was released last night was a little video of some of the stuff that took place behind the scenes during the Times Square event. Very awesome!

Megg also released this amazing photo announcing that there would be more adventures! *flippers crossed an event in England!*. Also the pins are like, transparent, which is very cool.

In celebration of World Penguin Day, the team also announced that up to $50K would be donated to protect penguins with $1 being donated for each game download in the US or Canada and shared an activity book which you can check out here.

What an awesome way to promote Club Penguin Island! I would like to give a massive thank you to Emeraldkik for most of the photos and for the interview as well as the team for hosting such an epic event!

Waddle on!

The Club Penguin Times 5 – #SoLongCP, #CPReunion

The island we all know and love closes in four days, but here at Club Penguin Mountains, we’ve got some special things planned for March 29th. Today I am pleased to finally announce what they are:

  • A special edition of the Club Penguin Times
  • A message to current and former staff members of CP
  • A live post that will be updated every few minutes, covering the news of the day, how I’m spending the last day and community thoughts. This will be an archive of the day.

March 29th is approaching fast, too fast. But let’s give the game a perfect ending, which is what we’re going to focus on in this edition by discussing the meet-ups.

In three events for the past 2 and a half years, Club Penguin Reunion has truly united the community, Last night was the final Reunion and the team, lead by Madzom8ie, have put months worth of work into making this a magical experience for all of us.

Dozens of staff members attended with notable sightings of Spike Hike, Polo Field, Gizmo and many more. There were also “famous” content-creators from old times, like Cena12121, Poonchee and Tommy234 56. Yesterday was truly magical, something hard to express in words. So here are photos instead.

CP Reunion truly reunited the community bringing loads of nostalgia and enjoyment throughout the entire evening. It was a big deal with rooms getting full two hours before the party was even officially due to begin. I’d like to thank the people who made this event possible.

The Farewell Finale happened on Friday night and it was equally as magical, but So Long CP is more than just a single meet-up. It was about giving Club Penguin the perfect ending, whether that be through a 24 hour party, camping, playing games, EPF operations and just all around having fun.

IAs with all meet-ups, it was extremely enjoyable (minus the frustrations of full rooms) with many staff members like Spike Hike making a special appearance. Here are some photos from the Finale.

It all started with a Kickoff at the end of January, we played some mini-games and won over the bots in the Penguin Playoffs, told stories at Camp Penguin, proved that a 24 hour long party can happen at CP Around the Clock, role played at Penguins at Work, saved the island in Operation Shadow and gave the game a perfect ending with the Farewell Finale.

This project has been huge. I mean, even a small movie was made. Here’s a 20 minutes animation made by Blue21102 which is extremely entertaining and exciting. The team even arranged voice actors for the multiple characters in this video! I would highly reccommend checking it out!

There are highlights of the events and more information on the So Long CP Project Page too, which you can check out!

Interview with Blue21102:

The Club Penguin Times is very lucky to have the opportunity to speak with the person who masterminded So Long CP, Blue21102!

What was the initial idea of this amazing project?

So Long CP was born when I thought, “How do you actually tip the iceberg?”. I started asking more questions about Club Penguin and, before long, I hired a team of penguins to help me answer those questions. At the time, I had a strong feeling Club Penguin was going to end soon, so I wanted to give the community a hand by hosting all sorts of meet-ups to deliver a perfect ending.

How did you make it happen? What went on behind the scenes with the team to make the entire project such a success?

I first started this project alone. I decided to email Megg about this project and I queried about the iceberg and told her about event ideas, and even invited her to the Kickoff on January 28th. Megg had definitely boosted my confidence with this project because she replied to me and decided to get involved with CP Around The Clock. As for the Farewell Finale, I asked whether she could make it and we both agreed on combining So Long CP with their huge meet-up. She advertised it on the blog for us, which was very kind of her. Without Megg, and moderators, like Muddy Ducky, I wouldn’t have maintained such confidence in the project.

So Long CP has made a perfect ending for sure! What are your thoughts on the end of CP and the future of CPI?

I’m glad you think that! My thoughts on Club Penguin closing down? To be honest, I was rather shocked at first. I anticipated an announcement about it, but I was trying not to think about it much. Now that I have experienced Club Penguin Island, my views have changed. Club Penguin had to shut down eventually. Adobe Flash is on its way out and I am not too bothered that the team decided to end it sooner than later. It means more effort can go into Club Penguin Island – and that is what counts. The future is key and I believe the team shut Club Penguin down for the benefit of the future. Club Penguin Island seems to be doing well so far and I am always interested to see how it grows. I think it will be a success for a while but I find its future unpredictable. All I wish for is the best!

Is there anything else you’d like to say?

I just want to say thank you for being a supportive friend. You have attended a lot of the events and I am so glad you believed in this project. Thanks for interviewing me! 😊

I can’t believe that an idea became something as amazing as it was, but that is the magic of the Club Penguin team and community! I would like to thank Blue21102 so much for not only allowing me to ask him a few questions but also for the project itself!

The So Long CP team also cannot be forgotten: thank you so much Tripplem, Littlee37, Tomisino1, Nina1059, Madzom8ie and Daisy!

Week in Review

Penguins have discovered numerous glitches throughout the island

Though news has been fairly limited this week, we’ve covered a lot of things on the island. Here are the ones from the last 7 days starting with the oldest first.

Glitches & Bugs:

Last edition I asked whether or not you would like me to host events on Club Penguin Island. 32% voted no, but 26% voted weekly and 26% voted bi-weekly. I’m still thinking, but at the moment, I am likely to hold biweekly events. Don’t forget to attend this party though!

The poll this week is: at this rate, how long do you think Club Penguin Island will last before it shuts down? Club Penguin was successful enough to last over a decade. That’s huge. I’m not sure if CP Island can do the same but what do you think?

Thank you very much for reading! Sorry about the lack of graphics in this edition. I hope you enjoyed it…and I can’t believe we’re so close to the end of Classic. Remember to make the most out of it.

Club Penguin Island Gameplay Footage & Interview

A beta tester, Riyita, has released a very professional video of him playing Club Penguin Island. It shows the first daily challenge and some of the many things which you can do, so I highly suggest that you check it out!

As you’re probably aware, many people are angry about the testing being a closed beta which only 2000 people are selected for. I was lucky enough to ask Riyita his thoughts on the frustration in the community.

I would say that Club Penguin Island is still very much new, and they can only have so many people testing it out. In regards to it being in only two countries, I am not so sure. I know in the past other countries had exclusive things. The UK had the magazine, and Australia had special events like a meetup at an Aquarium. -Riyita

I agree with Riyita, but it is still very frustrating now that we’ve learnt your country doesn’t really depend on whether or not you can beta test it. I’d like to give a huge thank you to Riyita for allowing me to ask him this question!

Community Profile: #CPReunion, Squeky10, Orangeee, Riyita, #Blogtober, Jolly Penguin

Hey everyone,

This month, Club Penguin celebrated its 11th birthday, so lots of players have created videos, blog posts, art. You name it! I’d also like to cover #CPReunion, and of course wrap up this post with another interview. So let’s just get right into the Club Penguin Mountains October Community Profile!

I’m going to start this post with a bit of a sad note. Since King89698 became Penguin of the Week, you are probably aware that he recently passed away, which is very sad. I’d like to thank Pingu15cool and Rosytilly for informing the community and putting their talents into remembering King. However, I’d really like to thank Orangeee, who made the header above as well as logos which were used by countless people throughout the community. I’ve nominated him for Penguin of the Week as this was an amazing thing for him to do. I suggest that you do to! The chances of becoming Penguin of the Week are tiny, but since Orange deserves it, if we all nominate him, we can make it happen, just like how we made King Penguin of the Week!

I asked two really talented artists if they would be happy with me sharing their Halloween artwork, and they said yes! You may recognise this first artist’s name as I made a post a few months ago featuring one of her artworks. Well, Pingping4069 made a Club Penguin Halloween drawing this month which I’d like to share with you! She described it as the “longest Club Penguin Halloween fanart she’s done”.

I must admit, it looks absolutely amazing! She also drew a really impressive portrait of PH, the Puffle Handler. Take a look!

This drawing looks so realistic and I bet you want to see more artwork from Ping! You can do so by checking out her DevinArt page and her Twitter account, where she posts all her drawings. These are only two of many more!

The next artwork I would like to show you is from an artist, you may be familiar with, but like with all artists, if you’re not, you should definitely check them out! Squeky10 gave me permission to feature a few of his artworks! Take a look at his latest Halloween one!

I find it absolutely spooktacular! If you’re interested, Squeky also put a speedpaint of this artwork on his YouTube channel, which I will link you to! Before that, here’s another one of his artworks!

I love this art style! Along with drawings, Squeky also does Club Penguin animations and digitalisations, so be sure to also check out his Twitter as well as his YouTube channel!

A good friend of mine, Michael56292, sent me his 11th Anniversary Fan Art! Check it out!

This definitely is not as good as the first two we’ve seen, but I really like it! I love the concept of having each and every anniversary hat that we’ve had surrounding colourful text. The 10th Party Hat looks the coolest, in my opinion as it looks like the real thing. Thanks for sharing this awesome artwork!

I’d also like to thank Yellow35166 for creating the Club Penguin Mountains logo which you see here! It will be included in the Music Jam header which will be published as part of the November update!

In September’s Community Profile, I only featured blog posts which I liked. Well, today I’m going to feature a new blog, a blog series and a blog post which I really liked, but it is one which you most likely have already read.

Blogtober has been a series on The Blue Blog in which Blue21102, the owner, creates a daily journal of life as a penguin. It’s a really awesome series with lots of humour inserted into it and lots of chances for players to get involved. By the time you’re reading this, Blogtober will be over, however, you can still catch up and Blue21102 has other amazing posts such as detailed, in-depth discussions!

You may not have heard of Club Penguin Seasons as Thankful only started the blog a few weeks ago. As such, the pages are still being worked on. However, Thankful strives at uploading daily content. Unlike other blogs which post things such as the new pin or the new newspaper, Thankful has short, unique content which gets straight to the point. Usually you might learn something about Club Penguin’s history which you never knew before.

You will almost certainly be familiar with Trainman1405 and his blog, Club Penguin Memories. He’s not posted in a while, however at the beginning of this month, he released an extremely informative (not that I’d use any of this information – of course not!) post on hacking Club Penguin accounts. It’s a rather long post, with it being over 4000 words, but it truly is worth the read because I enjoyed it and I am sure that you will too!

For all videos, clicking the border of the video will redirect you to YouTube, where you can subscribe to the person featured or check out their other videos!

To celebrate the 11th anniversary of our game, Riyita asked a few players to share their favourite memories, and he put it all into one special video! It really captured what the community liked. He also uploaded it to his website, Club Penguin Space. Imagine this! A video about the community in a post about the community in a post about the community. Check it out!

Club Penguin 101 is a series created by BeefyPenguin9 which gives you lots of information about a certain topic in Club Penguin history. It has lasted for five seasons, however this twenty four minute episode is the final ever CP 101. Beefy talks about life as a penguin from 2014 till 2016 and covers the parties we’ve had.

We’re about to cover Club Penguin Reunion, the biggest party of the year, however I’d like to start by showing you a video of the event taken by Jojimaxcp. Jojimax was in the rooms where the moderators were, which might seem simple, but the server was really full!

Other noteworthy channels:

FriendJad –

Duck072 –

Yellow35166 –

Without a doubt, Club Penguin Reunion was the most anticipated event of the year. Jdan1001 hinted it’s return, and it was such a great success last year. This time it was not as great, after all it was invaded by bots, but penguins such as Businessmoose, Chrisdog93 and Sqaishey were sighted. However, Megg, Deamama, Pirates, SheepVSGravity and a few other moderators spent an entire hour with us!

The story begins two hours before the event is planned to begin (21:30 PST) at the Coffee Shop. Deamama popped in for an early visit and I got a postcard from her! Many of us chose to stay in the Coffee Shop as we anticipated that the server would fill up quickly. After all, Megg did talk about it on the What’s New blog. Unfortunately, I disconnected an hour before the event began and couldn’t get back in to the Coffee Shop!

A few friends gathered at a spot in the Town waiting for the event to begin. When it did begin, the normal happened. We all split up in chaos trying to get a postcard from the moderator which we liked. In particular, I wanted to add a Businessmoose postcard to my collection, but I heard he left early after being surrounded by bots. He was surprised by them, but was not angry at them, which was an interesting reaction to have!

Many rooms were full and it was risky leaving a room to find a moderator. There were bots filling up the server and it very quickly became clear that this party was not going to be as good as last year. Even a few of the hosts admitted that! There were no sightings of Rsnail, Screenhog, Polo Field, Spike Hike or Billybob, which disappointed many. It just didn’t have that awesome feel to it, but it still was a great party. The hashtag was also trending on Twitter. Along with my postcard from Deamama, I got one from the person who copied content from Saraapril.

I’d like to thank all of the Club Penguin Reunion staff for making this event possible, along with the former and current staff members who took time out of their busy schedule to interact with us.

Interview of the Month

You may be aware of the Drama Diaries I created on Bobby7506, but before that, I interviewed him for Community Profile. It’s a bit late to change that, and I promised you an interview. I’m very reluctant to publish this, but Bobby and I have made peace and we both apologised. He admitted that he was wrong and just angry. So let’s please thank Bobby7506 for this months interview!

Torres 126: 2016 has been a year hated by many players in the community, including myself. It’s a time of uncertainty for Club Penguin, leading up to #ProjectSuperSecret, even though we had an “update” very recently. What are your thoughts regarding this?

Bobby7506: I’m quite excited but very nervous to experience PSS. I have a feeling it we’ll never be as good as Club Penguin. I also worry for blogs as its hard to picture how us bloggers will manage to make new posts on a new game that we’re all unsure of.

Torres 126: If you were in charge of Club Penguin, what do you do?

Bobby7506: If I was in charge of club penguin, I would add a feature which allows you to get rid of inactive friends on your buddy list so you could make new ones.

Torres 126: How has Club Penguin impacted your life?

Bobby7506: Club Penguin has impacted my life so much. It was my childhood and everyone used to play it. I’ve bought a lot of memberships and toys and I’ve always been into it. Club Penguin is the only thing I’ve ever been fully addicted to. It’s made me who I am today 🙂

Torres 126: One of the things that you are working on is “Jolly Penguin”. Could you please tell us a little more about this?

Bobby7506: EEEEK! Okay, okay! So I guess I could tell you some sneak peeks of Jolly Penguin and what we hope to happen with it 🙂 This project was made purposely to bring the community together and celebrate happiness. Christmas is one of the most joyful things around and I thought we could party and celebrate with the theme of it. I also liked the fact it comes once a year and there are 4 parties. The last party (finale) will be the big grand one and I hope as many penguins join us on that celebration.

Torres 126: And finally, is there anything else that you would like to say?

Bobby7506: I’d just like to say that this community is amazing and the amount of work we create and new things we discover and try is breath taking. I’ve made some amazing friends and I will never forget them.

I am part of the Jolly Penguin team, and we really aim to make this idea a reality! I’ll keep you updated! I did originally have more content about Jolly Penguin, but unfortunately I deleted it. Once again, please thank Bobby7506!

I’m sorry that this post isn’t as “solid” as the last one. I originally didn’t even intend to upload it, but in the end, I decided to do so. I’d like to give a big thank you to you for reading this far! I’d also like to give a big thank you to everyone I included in this post!

Tonight I’ll be uploading Halloween Panic. Until then, have a great day!

Waddle on!

Community Profile: Interview with Echo006, Blogs, Dadted, Pup1one, Penny2415, Sandor, #CPUnited

Welcome to the first ever Club Penguin community post as part of Club Penguin Mountains’ monthly community profile series! We’ve got an exclusive interview with Echo006, some awesome artwork by Penny2415 and Sandor, blog posts, videos and way more! Every month, I’m going to be speaking to different people and hopefully we could feature some really awesome stuff! Before I begin, I’d like to welcome everyone to send in anything which they might like featured in this post. Without further ado, let’s get into this post!

In our community, there’s no shortage of great artists. So our first ever artwork to be featured in this Community Profile Series is from an amazing artist known as Penny2415.

Hey guys, so at first glance of my art you may notice a red penguin with a jet pack and wonder is that jet pack guy? The answer is yes, I just like to draw him with hair lol. I mainly just draw Penny and jpg, you may notice I like to draw gore and glowing effects on things. Well I don’t know what else to say so I guess that’s it. Enjoy browsing through some of my pieces!

I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say that this artwork is amazing. Penny is also hosting a contest where you could get your very own drawing by writing a short Halloween Story. The details can be found on her social media accounts. These are only some of her pieces so if you’d like to see more of her artwork, be sure to support her on DeviantArt! You can also subscribe to her to see speed-artworks and follow her on Twitter!

Penny’s DeviantArt:

This week, I want to feature another amazing artist, and focus on his latest project. His name is Sandor, and you may recognise his name as the owner of the CPPS, Flippr. I’d like to share with you his Music Jam which he created. In my opinion, it’s better than Club Penguin’s work!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

If that isn’t good enough for you, the above is only four rooms. Sandor literally re-created the ENTIRE island and made it into a simulation which you can view on his website. I would highly recommend you spend a few minutes touring his island by going to his website as it’s absolutely amazing. I believe that he’s also working on some more parties, so be sure to check him out on social media too!

The Music Jam:

On a smaller note, I’d like to thank DjSpinner13 and Bluey1709 for making some logos for me! I find these really awesome, and I’d like to give them a massive thank you for creating them! You may recognise them from the website, but now you know who made them!

There are many talented players in our community, including video-makers! Now, some of you know that a very popular Club Penguin YouTuber is going to stop making CP videos soon, which is really sad. However, at the time of you reading this, he would have made his final video. For now, I can only show you the 13 second trailer of Pup1one’s “Goodbye, Hello”.

I would highly reccommend you to check out Pup1one’s channel. I’ve made a few posts about him before, and I really love his videos, particularly his Grey Puffle video. I’m sure that you will too! It’s a shame that he’s stopping his channel, but I wish him all the best of luck in the future.

On the topic of trailers, I’d like to share another trailer created by Blue21102, who has created some amazing productions such as “Hermit” and “The Phone Call”. You may have seen those in my DVD, but I suspect that this video will be his masterpiece! Judging from the trailer, it seems amazing!

Whilst we have to “stay tuned” for his next video, he already has some great content on both his blog and his YouTube channel, so go check him out!

Blue’s Blog:

Our next video comes from another large Club Penguin YouTuber with over 600 subscribers! Around a month ago, Dadted made a new series called “The Club Penguin Show”. It’s a bit like “The Spoiler Alert” and I’m sure that there will be many more episodes in the future. For now, here is Dadted’s first episode!

I think that this idea is really awesome, and I’m surprised no one thought about it before! It’s a great way for people to have fun, and I’m excited to see what the rest of the show has in store for us!

There are so many amazing blogs in this community and I think it would take many months, if not, years until I cover all the amazing blogs in this series. So, instead I’ve decided to do something different. I’m going to feature a few of my favourite Club Penguin blog posts which I have read this month. If you’re interested, you can check out the rest of their content!

Now, I’ve kept this post a bit secret and as such, I can’t really have people send in their blog posts…but now I can! If you’re interested, please do send in your blog posts which you find interesting! Click the computer screen to read the original post!

There is some controversy surrounding this post by Riyita on Club Penguin Space, however I like it. He’s highlighted what we want to see this Holiday Party and I’m sure a lot of us secretly agree with his opinions. The fact that he is such a large blogger makes it more likely that the team will listen to him. I mean, I made a post requesting that the team returns the Holiday Party Train from 2013 but I doubt they’ll listen to me.

The fact that Riyita has put all of the community’s thoughts into one post for the team to see is the reason why I am featuring it!

Blue21102 is one of my favourite bloggers, and his most recent post is amazing, like all his posts. I think the idea of “Top 10 Memories” is so simple, but Blue has some great ones. I don’t really one to spoil it, but make sure you check out that post, along with the rest of The Blue Blog!

Community Event (#CPUnited):

Every week, at 9pm (UK time), dozens of players attend Club Penguin United, which is a themed meet-up. These events are HUGE throughout the community and sometimes even moderators attend! I would highly reccommend you attending one. It takes place on Monday at 9pm on the server Marshmallow. You can see theme details on their Twitter account! Just check out these screenshots, given to me by one of the hosts, Echo006!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

And talking about CPUnited, I’ve spoken to Echo006, who is one of the hosts of this event. I’ve asked him a few questions, and he’s even shared some exclusive information about an upcoming theme. So let’s all thank Echo!

1. 2016 has been a year hated by many players in the community, including myself. It’s a time of uncertainty for Club Penguin, leading up to #ProjectSuperSecret. What are your thoughts regarding this?

As I’ve said many times in tweets regarding #ProjectSuperSecret, I am trying to be very optimistic about the future. At first, it was devastating to hear the news that our penguins and all our coins, igloos, puffles, items and stamps wouldn’t be transferred over. But I have come to realise that change is good and for anything to evolve, adapt and stay alive, it needs to change to its environment. Club Penguin is trying to do exactly this. They have recognised that flash games are dying and that flash CP won’t be sustainable anymore, and so are experimenting with newer things, such as Project Super Secret! I definitely think that moving away from desktop and onto apps is a good thing for Club Penguin, but I would be very upset if the desktop version of Club Penguin was shut down, as it has been a part of my life for so long! As for 2016 as a year on Club Penguin, it has been very different to normal years. The parties have been very basic, with little questlines and extremely long. I believe parties should be two weeks, to keep everybody interested and entertained. 6 week parties are boring and tiresome. I don’t even enjoy playing Club Penguin while the Frozen takeover is on. It’s not fun and it’s simply boring. Even Megg knows this. However, I completely understand why Club Penguin are reusing old parties and extending the time on them. It’s because their whole focus has shifted onto Project Super Secret. They’ve realised that flash CP is going to end sooner or later and they have to push forwards and get Project Super Secret released smoothly and quickly, so they have devoted more time to the app than they have to designing new party rooms and items. It’s a shame the Halloween Party and Holiday Party will mostly use rooms from last year, but I’m perfectly okay with this if Project Super Secret really is worth it!

2. How has Club Penguin impacted your life?

Club Penguin has impacted my life in so many different ways. I have been playing it for 8 and a half years now, and I have watched it grow and become an amazing place to hangout. Club Penguin taught me how to type, got me interested in computers and gave me access to Social Media. I made everlasting friendships on Club Penguin and I have become a well-known player amongst the community! I love chatting and talking to people on Twitter, and Club Penguin has definitely become a part of my daily-life. I used to blog about Club Penguin for 2 years and had an amazing experience. And now, we are attempting to unite the community in our weekly meetups, #CPUnited. My life definitely wouldn’t be the same with Club Penguin.

3. If you were in charge of Club Penguin, what do you do?

If I was in charge of Club Penguin, I would make lots of changes. Firstly, I would change the rules regarding how the staff can interactive with the community and players. I feel that often we are not listened to, and our ideas are not heard or expressed. Luckily, we are very fortunate to have Megg as community manager who does listen and has returned many things that we want, like the Music Jam! I would also ensure that parties were NOT 6 weeks long, and that new interactive content was released every week, not every 2 weeks. I would definitely hide the pins in more obscure places, as well as improving the stability of the Club Penguin app!

4. Could you tell us more about #CPUnited?

#CPUnited is an amazing community project that involves the whole community and bringing everyone together. The sole purpose of #CPUnited is to unite the community and the servers! We wanted to bring a unique and different twist to Club Penguin meetups, and so we decided that our meetups would be different. They would have different themes every week. We’ve had a complete range of activities and every week is unique! The project was thought up by myself, Pingu15cool, Waddles4g1 and Kannoo2! We run the @CPUnitedTeam Twitter account and host weekly parties on Marshmallow at 1pm PST! Our meetups are loved by the whole community and everybody gets involved with roleplay and enjoying the activities. It is a truly magical experience where everybody gets together and has so much fun! And, I can exclusively reveal here on CPMountains, that after this week’s meetup Ghosts vs Zombies, we will be having a Candy Scavenger Hunt theme for Halloween on October 9th!!

5. Is there anything else you would like to say?

I would like to say thank you for everyone reading this interview! (I know it’s quite long!) I hope you learnt a lot about what I think of the amazing community and the wonderful game, Club Penguin. I’d like to say a huge shoutout to the #CPUnited team, and if you haven’t been to our events yet, you really should! Thank you everyone for making this possible, and everyone who follows me on Twitter, @Echo006, you are all awesome!

Wow! I’d like to give a really MASSIVE thank you to Echo006 for allowing me to interview him! Every month, I’m going to aim to interview a member of this community. I think it’s awesome that Echo agreed to this one! Make sure to follow him and the rest of the #CPUnited team provided you do have a Twitter account.

To conclude, this has been an awesome post to make! It’s over 2100 words, but most of that was taken up by other people, which is what I’m really trying to do! I hope that there are many more of these in the future because there are so any people who I would like to feature. Thank you to everyone who is featured in this post and thank you for reading! 🙂

Interview #1: Rocketsnail

Hey everyone,

I’ve been closely monitoring my recent survey to find out that a surprising number of people want to see interviews on Club Penguin Mountains. As such, I reached out to Rocketsnail to try and start this series with a bang and surprisingly, he agreed! I asked my interviewer to ask him a few questions, and today I am pleased to be able to share his answers!

Rocketsnail, also known as Lance Priebe was the co-founder of the game we know today as Club Penguin. He left in 2010 (I believe it was September or October) and has since gone on to develop other things, and you can check out some more cool stuff about him at! I’m pretty thrilled to be able to ask him a few questions.

I found these answers rather interesting! I also couldn’t help think about Michael who was inspired by Club Penguin.

I’d like to give a massive thank you to Lance for answering my three questions! I’m going to try and see if I can ask more people, particularly people who are in the community, more questions so maybe we could get a monthly serious going.

Waddle on!
