CP Rewritten: Rockhopper’s Treasure Items to be Exclusive
Some new information has been released about Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure system, with the Club Penguin Rewritten team confirming that none of the items will return in the future with an alternative method of obtaining them.
Q: Will these [treasure] items return?
stu: They won’t.In addition, the team also stated that there are currently eighty items which can be obtained through this system, though more could be added in future. Each daily unlock will randomly offer a different item, and it’s unlikely any of those eighty items will be removed from the pool of potential items anytime soon.
Given that the Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure system is something still quite new, I just wanted to share this news for those who are curious, as it might mean this system is the only way of obtaining an item that you might be interested in.

CP Rewritten: Pastel Pink Likely to be the Next Colour
Given the Maroon was released this week, albeit through Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure which doesn’t provide a guarantee of acquiring it, there’s been some speculation about what the next penguin colour might be! According to the team, it’s likely to be pastel pink.
I’ll probably add more colours to the Penguin Style soon like Pastel Pink – not right now because we just added Maroon, but the next colour will probably be Pastel Pink in the colour.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorThis colour will probably be a lighter shade of the existing Pink colour. I’ve provided an example below, but I should stress, the team haven’t announced any details about what kind of shade the Pastel Pink colour will be, so it really is just an example to demonstrate a potential pastel colour.
It’s unlikely that it’ll be released in the upcoming catalog since Maroon was recently released, but it’s interesting that this is being favoured over Dark Red, which was the final option in the Colour Vote of 2017 that hasn’t been released yet.

CP Rewritten: Music Jam to Have Sunset Sky
The Music Jam will have a sunset sky when it occurs this year, the Club Penguin Rewritten team have confirmed! They also revealed that they are considering having some “custom” designs for it, so that it’s something different from what has been previously experienced.
For the Music Jam, I’m bringing back the sunset sky from the 2020 one. The Music Jam might look different though; I might actually make it a custom party again because we haven’t done that in ages.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorFor those who aren’t familiar with the sunset sky, I’ve attached a photo from the event last year, but it’s effectively a lighter purple and orange sky which had a really nice summer feel to it! I’m definitely glad to hear that it’ll be returning.
Music Jam in June 2020 There also hasn’t really been a full custom event since the Halloween Party last year, so seeing a new one with the more modern HTML5 technology is also something to look forward to! CP Rewritten: Meteor Strikes the Dock
A meteor has struck the island, leaving some significant damage to the Dock! The Club Penguin Rewritten team also indicated that there could be other “strange sightings” in the near future.
This is all part of the build-up to the Prehistoric Party, which will involve travelling back in time. It’s likely that in terms of the storyline for the event, the meteorite is going to be the way which Gary powers the Time Trekker already located at the Snow Forts.
It’s not entirely known when the Prehistoric Party will begin yet! It’s technically supposed to be this month, but given that’s rapidly approaching, it’s entirely feasible that the event might begin in early June. However, the appearance of the meteor definitely indicates that something might be happening soon.

CP Rewritten: Further Information on DJ Maxx Graduation Visits
Just a little bit more information about DJ Maxx’s visits for the ongoing Graduation Event which has been announced since this morning:
- All of his visits will be spontaneous, meaning that no meet-up times will be shared.
- He will be offering a new background, but it’ll basically be like his Halloween Giveaway except with a different pose.
DJ Maxx’s new giveaway In regards to the second point, that means the background will look like above, except for his pose which will be the same as his Stage Giveaway. You can compare all the different backgrounds on his tracker, which I’d also recommend checking since there’ll be no scheduled visits!
Good luck meeting him!

CP Rewritten: Gymnasium Igloo Available
Just a little update to the Better Igloos catalog: it’s now possible to find the Gymnasium Igloo! It’s marked as a hidden item, and it can be found through clicking the centre of the stage included in the Penthouse Igloo. It costs 2700 coins.
There is another page with secrets in this catalog, and you can view that here, but I just wanted to make a separate post about this because it wasn’t included in the first one.

CP Rewritten: Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure System Unveiled
The “rewards system” which the Club Penguin Rewritten team announced has now been released, and it’s a new system titled Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure. There’s an icon for it at the top right of your screen.
Essentially, every time you open a chest, you’ll be able to receive an item. There’s a huge range of items available, including several new and modern items, and the item which you receive will be random from a set list; someone else could get a different item even if they open a chest on the same day. Unfortunately, there is a catch: although the items are free, the team are requiring players to watch a full video advertisement each time to redeem a chest.
I know that it’s been common for me to speak out against the increasingly intrusive ad-experience on Club Penguin Rewritten, and given there’s been a lot of controversy about this, many penguins might be expecting my thoughts. I can’t say that I’m comfortable this, because I’m not, but I am glad that the team are now being open about the fact that the game isn’t non-profit; that transparency is important.
This is a pretty big feature, and although it’s clearly motivated by a financial incentive for the team, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with this. While this is technically a trial, I expect this will be a permanent feature, and there are further plans for this system, such as introducing “coin boosters” that will allow players to multiply coins earned in mini-games.

CP Rewritten: DJ Maxx Expected to Visit for Graduation Event
Earlier in the month, once the Graduation Event was announced, the team revealed that DJ Maxx was under consideration for being one of the mascots to potentially visit the event. It is now expected that he will actually be visiting for the event.
DJ Maxx on the island in 2018 He hasn’t visited since November last year, and I’d recommend checking the tracker for the best chance of meeting him!

CP Rewritten: New Way of Earning Items Planned
Earlier today, the Club Penguin Rewritten team announced that they would be introducing a “way to get items soon”, potentially referencing the reward system discussed just over a week ago.
We’re working on a reward system [for items].
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorIn regards to what these items could be, a sneak peek shows that the Shark Costume and Rainbow Paint Hoodie will almost certainly be available. Perhaps more excitingly though, a new penguin colour was also shown: Maroon! This colour was rejected by the public in the Colour Vote of 2017, but it seems likely that it’ll finally be appearing on the island.
A lot remains unclear about how this will work though. On classic Club Penguin, there was a “Quests” feature which offered some items through completing basic activities, so there could potentially be something similar to that.
Once more details are revealed, I’ll be sure to let you know!
