CP Rewritten: Rockhopper’s Treasure Items to be Exclusive
Some new information has been released about Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure system, with the Club Penguin Rewritten team confirming that none of the items will return in the future with an alternative method of obtaining them.
Q: Will these [treasure] items return?
stu: They won’t.In addition, the team also stated that there are currently eighty items which can be obtained through this system, though more could be added in future. Each daily unlock will randomly offer a different item, and it’s unlikely any of those eighty items will be removed from the pool of potential items anytime soon.

Given that the Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure system is something still quite new, I just wanted to share this news for those who are curious, as it might mean this system is the only way of obtaining an item that you might be interested in.

CP Rewritten: Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure System Unveiled
The “rewards system” which the Club Penguin Rewritten team announced has now been released, and it’s a new system titled Rockhopper’s Daily Treasure. There’s an icon for it at the top right of your screen.
Essentially, every time you open a chest, you’ll be able to receive an item. There’s a huge range of items available, including several new and modern items, and the item which you receive will be random from a set list; someone else could get a different item even if they open a chest on the same day. Unfortunately, there is a catch: although the items are free, the team are requiring players to watch a full video advertisement each time to redeem a chest.

I know that it’s been common for me to speak out against the increasingly intrusive ad-experience on Club Penguin Rewritten, and given there’s been a lot of controversy about this, many penguins might be expecting my thoughts. I can’t say that I’m comfortable this, because I’m not, but I am glad that the team are now being open about the fact that the game isn’t non-profit; that transparency is important.
This is a pretty big feature, and although it’s clearly motivated by a financial incentive for the team, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with this. While this is technically a trial, I expect this will be a permanent feature, and there are further plans for this system, such as introducing “coin boosters” that will allow players to multiply coins earned in mini-games.
