CP Rewritten: “Plans” for Rainbow and Gold Puffles
Given the news that puffles will be returning to the island this month, there’s been a lot of interest as to whether new types of puffles could be interested in the future. Although there won’t be any new colours immediately, the team have now stated that there are “plans” for Rainbow and Gold puffles.
We do have plans for Rainbow and Gold [puffles] – they just need to be done properly with a storyline.

I should also note that the team haven’t given any indication of there being plans to introduce puffle creatures, such as the Unicorn and Raccoon puffles that came later in Club Penguin’s history. Instead, it seems the current intention is to stick with just colours.

Oh wow! A while back, the staff had no intention of implementing them. It’s a wise move.
I love how you obtained Rainbow Puffles on CP. It was magical and majestic. But since the Puffle Berry Mall is considered modern, they’ll have to be obtained a different way, I suppose. Nothing beats the Cloud Forest, though. If Rainbow Puffles end up being a simple purchase at the Pet Shop, they’ll lose their mystique. The same pretty much applies to Gold Puffles.
Club Penguin really was the greatest game of all time.

Agreed, it’ll be interesting to see how/if they match the magic of the Cloud Forest and Gold Cave Mine while still balancing the fact that “modern” rooms might not be received too well.

In the original Club Penguin, you had to go into the Mine to find golden puffles and launch yourself into the clouds to find rainbow puffles. So that’s probably how it will work in CP Rewritten. And when golden puffles were introduced, puffles gained the ability to dig for treasure. So maybe we’ll get that, too!

It’ll be interesting to see if they go down that road given that those quests involved more “modern” rooms (especially the Puffle Hotel) which the team aren’t planning to add. That could change once again in the future though!

If the Puffle Hotel and the Mall do end up getting added, perhaps they could be in a separate area instead of replacing existing rooms.
