CP Rewritten: New Villainous Mascots Planned
Following the announcement that Shellbeard would be introduced as a mascot to Club Penguin Rewritten, the team have now expressed further intentions to add more villainous mascots in-game with the aim of enhancing storylines on the island.
I want to make more villains such as Protobot and other cool people to meet in-game. It is time to create more of a story to this island!
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorFor those unfamiliar with Protobot, he was a character from Club Penguin that sought to destroy both the EPF and the island on several occasions, although he was never meetable in-game. These plots tended to be separate and far more advanced than anything Herbert ever came up with, which could make future storylines involving him very interesting.
Protobot and Gary While these probably won’t be introduced immediately, given that Shellbeard has been formally confirmed, you can find the Shellbeard Tracker here! It should help with finding him once he starts visiting the island.

CP Rewritten: Herbert’s Maze Giveaway
Herbert has started visiting the island on Club Penguin Rewritten for the Halloween Party for the first time in almost two years! As part of his visits, he is offering a new background titled Herbert’s Maze Giveaway. It contains a similar pose from his previous background, except it also features some corn – you can see it below!
If you haven’t met him yet, don’t worry as he’ll be making plenty of visits throughout the Halloween Party! I’d recommend checking the Herbert Tracker for the best chance of meeting him, along with all the latest information regarding his visits.

CP Rewritten: Herbert Confirmed to Visit for Halloween
This news probably isn’t that surprising given his heavy involvement with this event, but Herbert has now been officially confirmed to visit for the Halloween Party! While this was previously only assumed, the Club Penguin Rewritten team have now directly confirmed the news.
Q: Please say that Herbert will still be visiting the island even though we had to scare him away!
Answer by team: Yup!There’s still a couple of details which aren’t known in regards to mascot visits at this event, namely if Herbert will have a new background or not, and whether Gary will also be visiting. Given that Gary has visited at every Halloween Party in the past, it’s likely that he will, but this hasn’t been officially confirmed in the same way yet.
For the best chance of meeting Herbert, I’d recommend checking the tracker as that will be kept updated with all the latest information regarding his visits! Thank you very much for reading, and good luck meeting him!

CP Rewritten: Gary Meet-Up Times for Early May
Gary will begin visiting the island from this week in celebration of the PSA missions returning! Although he’ll also be making random spontaneous visits from now, three scheduled meet-ups have also been released for the next few days. You can find all the details for them on the Gary Tracker!
In terms of backgrounds, Gary will be offering a different background once the Mountain Expedition begins to the one for the immediate upcoming visits.
Gary will be roaming around! Please note that the giveaway for this meet-up will be different to the one for both Prehistoric Party and Mountain Expedition.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorThe tracker should help a lot in finding him, especially since he’ll be making spontaneous visits too. Good luck!

CP Rewritten: Spy Gear Items Code
Some pieces of spy kit can be obtained through redeeming the code. More specifically, you can receive the following items: the Dark Vision Goggles, Black Suit, Black Bowtie, and Black Sunglasses. The code is MISSIONSRETURNED.
Here is how to redeem the code:
- Go to the start page of the game, before logging in
- Click “Unlock Items Online” in the top right corner
- Click “I have a code”
- Enter the code which you read here into the box
- Click “Done” and you will have your items!
Of course, this code also means that the PSA missions have returned! You can find them at the EPF Command Room, which can be accessed from the Everyday Phoning Facility (located at the Ski Village).

CP Rewritten: PSA Set to be Abolished
The Club Penguin Rewritten team have recently stated that they were considering retiring the Penguin Secret Agency, but this has now been confirmed. The organisation will be merged with the Elite Penguin Force, which will perform effectively the same function. It’s worth noting that the PSA HQ will still be available.
Having just one agency is ideal and easier to concentrate on storyline wise, so the [PSA] will be gone and it’ll just be the EPF.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorGiven that the PSA HQ will still be available and the PSA missions are returning, I suspect there may be some confusion about what this change means. In practise, it means very little; the monthly PSA pay-check will probably be ended and the PSA Spy Phone taken away, but the agency will also have no involvement in future events.
There’s also not been much understanding as to the difference between the EPF and the PSA. It’s a long story which goes back many years, but effectively, they’re both spying organisations which perform similar functions.

CP Rewritten: PSA Missions Returning – Sneak Peek
Last month, it was announced that the Club Penguin Rewritten team were planning to return PSA missions in the near future. They’ve now provided a little more information about that plan, including a sneak peek! It shows the interface from which the PSA mission can be launched. The missions are the same ones as before, and there won’t be any custom ones when this launches, so you might already be familiar with them.
In regards to the additional information, the team indicated that there’ll (probably temporarily) be a blurring of the lines between the PSA and the EPF. Instead of having to be a PSA agent to complete these missions, the team intend to return the EPF Command Room, and they can be launched from there.
[We’ll be] adding them all at once; we’re basically adding a button at the EPF room for players to easily access them without having a primary PSA role.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorFor those curious, the missions won’t be returning in the new technology. Although that means it won’t run as smoothly, it should hopefully also mean that the missions will be returning in the near future.

CP Rewritten: Plans to Return PSA Missions
Just over a year ago, the PSA missions returned to Club Penguin Rewritten for everyone, and were completely accessible. Unfortunately, with the transfer to a new technology (HTML5) this year, they’ve not been possible to play. The team have now revealed that they are hoping to return the missions using a Flash emulator.
For agents on the island, I do plan on bringing back the classic missions using Ruffle (third party Flash emulator). The changes may include making it easier for players to become PSA agents, basically making the missions more accessible.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorThe Flash emulator means that there might be some bugs since they’ve not been converted to a new technology, but it also means that they should hopefully be introduced relatively soon.
It should be stressed that the EPF and the PSA are still relatively low on the prioritisation list for HTML5 features, and it’s unlikely that either of those will be similar to how they were before anytime soon.

CP Rewritten: Klutzy to Visit this Week
Initially, it was revealed that Klutzy would be visiting for the Holiday Party. However, a message has been sent to the Spy Phones of EPF agents, indicating that he’ll actually be visiting this week instead, potentially ahead of the Holiday Party!
The message from Rookie reads:
That took some time to translate….he basically said he’ll be here this week! YAY
-Rookie in the message to EPF agentsKlutzy has never visited the island before, so it’ll definitely be fun meeting him! The Klutzy Tracker should help you be able to find him, and you can find that here. Rockhopper will also be visiting for the Holiday Party, so that’s something else to look forward to!

CP Rewritten: Klutzy to Become a Meetable Mascot
Klutzy will becoming a mascot on Club Penguin Rewritten! Although he’s just a crab, he will still be meetable like any other mascot, and a character which you can interact with. He’ll also offer a background and a stamp if you meet him. 🦀
In fact, it’s possible to even view the Klutzy stamp under the “Characters” section of your stampbook now! Nobody has obtained this yet, since he hasn’t visited the island, but it’s expected that he will do so during the upcoming Operation this month.
I can also guarantee that there’ll be a Klutzy tracker added to this blog later this week; it requires a bit of modification to my code, but it shouldn’t take too long. Stay tuned for that, as it should hopefully help you meet Klutzy once he starts visiting the island!
