My “Statement” on Club Penguin Rewritten’s Closure

    February 28, 2018 /

    Hi,

So it’s been a few days since the team announced the closure of Club Penguin Rewritten on March 4th, and that date is only a few days away. I just wanted to explain a bit about my thoughts on the game closing, some alternatives and also the future of this blog. This is just going to be as “raw” as possible, but there’s just a lot I want to express.

There’s no way of saying it other than I am absolutely devastated by the closure. In many ways, this announcement has hit me (and many others) way harder than that of classic Club Penguin ending. I am absolutely certain that there was so much exciting content planned for the game, with there to be many more amazing parties, had it not been for the initial actions of Codey, who I have no sympathy for.

That being said, by no means do I blame the team for the decision which they have decided to take. I know I said this when there was a previous announcement about closing, but personal safety always has to take priority over anything, including the game. I don’t want to focus too much on the cause of this announcement, but I personally feel that the closure of the game was for a reasonable reason.

When making the new blog header yesterday (you can see it below), I found almost 100 images and used the vast majority of these. It amazed me on how many incredible parties we had and how many memorable moments we had, and I can’t deny that it made me so sad to consider that after the Waddle On Party, we won’t be able to experience a party quite the same. I’m so grateful to the team for all these amazing experiences which they have given to us: Club Penguin Rewritten truly was a continuation of Club Penguin to me.

I’ll be honest with you, to me at least, nothing will replace the magic of Club Penguin Rewritten. No other private server or game has such an incredible variety and flow of content, with an amazing community, backed by a trustworthy and professional team who genuinely care.

But if you do want to carry on your Club Penguin journey, please make sure you choose a game which is safe and has a trustworthy team. These are just my recommendations, but I would extremely recommend you do not play “Club Penguin Online” and I also suggest you don’t play “Club Penguin Universe”. I won’t be too specific, but even recently, their staff have done awful things.

The safe servers recommended by Hagrid, an administrator for Club Penguin Rewritten, are Vintage Penguin, CP Reborn and CP Regenerated.

I’m going to share a brief bit of information regarding these servers and give my personal opinion on it (which may vary to yours!) as well as if I may blog about it. Let’s start with something that isn’t a private server.

As you might know, I used to dedicate this blog to Club Penguin Island posts before completely stopping in January but the closure announcement doesn’t really change my opinion. The game is really cool, and it’s nice to be able to support the official franchise, but the lack of updates often is the main reason which puts me off from both playing the game and blogging about it.

As a result, I almost certainly will not be blogging about Club Penguin Island, despite the closure. I still, however, wish it the best of luck, and I do hope it will solve the issues which make me dislike it at the moment.

This private server is extremely neat, with a very trustworthy team and a lot of cool events. However, it truly is “Vintage”, set in a period of Club Penguin where it doesn’t even have rooms such as the Stage, or even stamps.

    The map of Vintage Penguin

Although it’s a neat server which I would reccommend you check out, it just isn’t for me. It has a completely different atmosphere which is challenging to adjust to, mainly because of quite how old the era of Club Penguin it is. Many others enjoy it though, and it does have a lot of cool elements!

Regarding Club Penguin Reborn, it isn’t appropriate based on more recent information, and I would suggest not to play it.

Regarding Club Penguin Regenerated, it isn’t trustworthy based on more recent information, and I would suggest not to play it.

Whilst these are all servers that I could be posting about, there is one server which I will definitely be blogging about and that I would highly recommend playing. That server is Pengur, however it isn’t out yet.

The majority of staff are staff from Club Penguin Rewritten, including Hagrid and Flippy being administrators, so it is definitely trustworthy. But along with this, the content looks absolutely incredible.

Lots of the game is custom content, but here’s the sneak peeks which they have released! Please note that some of the Holiday Party and Halloween Party sneak peeks are older, as they

    Candy Pizzatron 3000 redesign
    Pizzatron 3000 redesign
    Custom mascot stamps
    Redesign of Ice Fishing
Trains & Coins for Change – planned for December 2017
Catalog page planned for December 2017
Planned Town for the Halloween Party 2017

The game just looks absolutely incredible, and I will definitely be fully engaged with it when it releases, which I will be sure to keep you updated on!

I think it’s important to feature some servers as one of the saddest things which will happen after the closure is that every penguin will be going their own way, whether it be to a new game, or moving on from Club Penguin completely.

I do just want to say that it’s been an absolute honour to have been able to hopefully have helped tens of thousands of people regarding Club Penguin Rewritten. The game has just been perfect to blog about, and I’ve loved every moment of it. It devastates me that it’s going to be closing within 100 hours. In my random checklist in my head, the game ticked literally every criteria. Constant flow of updates, a need for content, enjoyment out of making content, the list goes on.

To the Club Penguin Rewritten team, I cannot thank you enough.

I guess that leaves just one more thing, the future of this blog. The answer, honestly, I don’t know, neither am I going to try and figure it out yet. For the last few days, I want to truly enjoy my time on Club Penguin Rewritten rather than just trying to switch to different servers in anticipation of March 4th.

When Pengur releases, I will definitely be blogging about that, however there isn’t a clear timeframe right now on when that will happen, so I need to do something in-between. I will most probably blog about one or more of the three private servers which I mentioned in this post until then.

However, the change from CP Rewritten content won’t be easy, both for me personally but also for this blog. The pages took several hours to create, and I had over half a dozen more made but unpublished. It will take some time to adjust to whatever decision I make. A few days after the shutdown, I will be taking a small break from posting to consider what to do next. It will likely on be a few days, but definitely no longer than one or two weeks.

I know that many of you who read this blog when I did CP Rewritten content might not check it again. Perhaps you’re moving onto a new server, like me, or leaving everything related to Club Penguin. Either way, I’d like to give you a huge thank you for the support every single day. I sincerely hope that you find something you enjoy, and I wish you the best of luck at whatever you do next.

CP Rewritten: Rory Will Attend the Waddle on Party

    February 27, 2018 /

An administrator, Hagrid, has confirmed that Rory will visit Club Penguin Rewritten during the Waddle On Party before the game ends on March 4th. You can view a Rory tracker here!

Truthfully, I’m not the biggest fan of this idea as it doesn’t seem fair to those who miss Rory on leaving the game on a bad note due to missing a mascot. However, many are excited to meet him, and I wish you the best of luck in hopefully meeting him before the game ends!

CP Rewritten: Waddle on Party Sneak Peek

    February 27, 2018 /

The last party of Club Penguin Rewritten will commence on Wednesday, before the game ends for good on March 4th, which is an extremely saddening though.

However, Hagrid (an administrator) has shared a sneak peek of the Waddle on Party, and it has so many reminders of Club Penguin’s closure. The Alumni Jacket will likely be obtainable by everyone, and also we can see the emote which was present in CP’s Waddle on Party.

As amazing as the party looks, with a cool display of the Penguin Band playing at the Dock in the image above, it still makes me so sad to realise that this will actually be the last ever party on Club Penguin Rewritten. Thank you for reading!

CP Rewritten: Waddle On Party Begins this Wednesday

    February 26, 2018 /

The news is extremely sad and recent, so this post may not be as detailed as usual yet.

However, it has been confirmed that the Waddle on Party will begin on February 28th (this Wednesday) and end on March 4th, the day the servers are brought offline. The game will be offline forever on March 4th, 21:00 GMT.

The image above is the login screen, and it’s honestly really sad. I can’t exactly say I’m excited for the Waddle On Party, but as the last party, let’s hope it’s the best yet.

Club Penguin Rewritten is Closing Down

    February 26, 2018 /

I don’t feel comfortable commenting on the situation right now, however the news has been broken. A statement can be viewed on the website here.

Today, February 26th, Club Penguin Rewritten is announcing that the virtual world will be discontinued on March 4th, 2018 permanently. After said date is passed, the game will be offline along with the website cprewritten.net. All data and accounts associated will be erased for security purposes. Any server claiming to be us will be fake unless addressed on our Twitters @CPRewritten and @CPRSupport.

There will be one last party, The Waddle On Party, which will take place Feb. 28 — Mar. 4.
At exactly Mar. 4, 14:00 Penguin Standard Time (or 21:00 GMT), the servers will be shutdown.
You can check the Clock Tower located at the Snow Forts.

Note to all our players: Thank you. It has been such an incredible ride throughout the last year. We created parties, events, meetups and so, so much love towards our virtual world — Club Penguin. Together as a community we proved that we can bring back our favourite world with life. We are strong and always will be. This closure is not the end of our journey, but a new chapter for new discoveries and experiences. There are several other Club Penguin servers out there that you can find to keep the world spinning. You can also join Disney’s Club Penguin Island to support the official brand. Club Penguin is a community, not one specific game. The world will keep spinning as long as we are united.

Feel free to take a trip down memory lane.

    Thank YOU for everything,
    — The Club Penguin Rewritten Team

CP Rewritten: Snow & Sports Catalog – February 2018 (Baseball)

    February 23, 2018 /

The second Winter Snow and Sports catalog has been released at the Ice Rink on Club Penguin Rewritten, containing lots of awesome baseball, hockey and climbing gear, as well as furniture!

As always, I will be sharing the three secrets in this catalog! A blue circle represents a secret is hidden there and the image next to the circle is what that item is.

On page one, clicking the clothes or face of the yellow penguin in the background will reveal the “Green Baseball Uniform” and the “Green Ball Cap”.

On page two, clicking the green penguin in the background will reveal the “Green Hockey Jersey”!

On page three, clicking the snowball which the blue penguin is holding will reveal the “Red Ball Cap”.

The rest of the catalog does not contain any secrets, but there are a few more pages filled with furniture, backgrounds and also a “Lifeguard Shirt”!

I hope that this guide helped. Thank you very much for reading, be sure to check back for more of the latest Club Penguin Rewritten news and guides!

CP Rewritten: Explanation of Yesterday’s Announcement

    February 22, 2018 /

Last night, Club Penguin Rewritten was initially planning to close, causing a huge amount of sadness and confusing throughout the community. The good news is that the game will no longer be closing, however I think it’s important to explain the events of which happened.

The main two things which are the most significant and important to understand are that:

    1. Club Penguin Rewritten is not closing
    2. The initial reason for the announcement which said that the game would be closing is completely genuine and valid

This post is a combination of information released by the team through statements and social media, however this is the most recent statement regarding the issue, confirming that the game will not be closing.

On February 8th 2018, the ex-administrator Codey was overthrown and removed of his position in the team. I reported on this in a bit more detail here, however I have not posted about the screenshots of horrific messages from Codey, varying from blackmail (which is illegal) to threats and rudeness.

Most of this was kept behind-the-scenes, however there was a clear escalation on February 15th when Codey cruelly leaked Auroris with intent of harming the game. This is a custom made source code which Hagrid, a current administrator, spent a lot of time working hard on. It was leaked after blackmail, however fortunately has now been removed.

Several more messages and screenshots are shared, however it would not be appropriate for me to publish them due to how awful they are. Codey has continued to harass the team, however a some hours ago, it escalated to an unbelievable amount, which is the main cause of this situation.

A detailed document revealing a staff member’s personal information was immorally, awfully and horrifically published online. I don’t want to discuss anymore of that than is necessary, however it was awful. Codey warned that if Club Penguin Rewritten was not shut down, police could be unfairly sent to that staff member’s house. Recently, there has been a case where someone suffered significantly from this, and this should happen to absolutely nobody. It is with this fear in mind, the team initially decided to close the game.

Now I’ve heard rumours that this was a “publicity stunt”, and I can absolutely assure you it is not. However, it is so important for me to stress that personal safety always takes priority, and with that in mind, the team initially intended to close the game. This is reasonable and fair, especially considering the huge scale of the situation.

    https://twitter.com/CPRSupport/status/966545429839130624

However, the story ends on a positive note! Codey realised the horrors of his actions and as such, apologised and returned the Twitter, significantly minimising the threat. As a result, Club Penguin Rewritten will remain open for us to enjoy!

I hope that this cleared up some stuff, thanks for reading! Waddle on!

Thank you for 500K Views! (Party Invite)

    February 21, 2018 /

Earlier today, Club Penguin Mountains hit the huge milestone of achieving half a million (500K) views, which is absolutely insane to me!

The party has been cancelled due to recent events regarding Club Penguin Rewritten

I would really like to thank everyone who reads or has read that blog for supporting me! Whilst it is just a number (though a very large one!), I still hope that my content is helpful, useful or informative! It still amazes me that so many people read this blog each day!

One of the things which I have rarely done is held a party, however in order to show my appreciation, I will be holding a party on the server Marshmallow on Club Penguin Rewritten tomorrow!

The party will be at midday PST, which is an hour behind the time of the clock at the Snow Forts! It will likely start at the Town then move around the island and I hope that you will be able to attend, though I completely understand if that is not possible.

Whilst this post might be short, the main thing which I really want to do is express how thankful I really am to everyone individual who reads this blog. Achieving such a large milestone is hard to explain in words and is just so incredible, and I appreciate it so much!

I’m so excited for the future of Club Penguin Rewritten and the content on this blog, but for now, I just want to give you a huge thank you!

CP Rewritten: Aunt Arctic Visits – 20/02/18

    February 20, 2018 /

Aunt Arctic visited two servers today, Deep Freeze and Blizzard, on Club Penguin Rewritten, in celebration of the Penguin Play Awards and the 50th Newspaper Celebration!

She had a new background – the Penguin Play Awards themed background – and answered questions, discussed several topics and also explored lots of the island! It was an incredibly fun meet-up!

Her second visit was also tracked by our Aunt Arctic tracker, which can be viewed here! If you missed her, I wish you the best of luck in catching her soon!
