CP Rewritten: Downtime “For Several Days” Next Week
As you may be aware by now, the technology which Club Penguin Rewritten is currently reliant on (Flash) will be retired by browsers at the end of this year. In order to ensure that the game continue, the team have been working on a HTML5 version, which is a more modern technology that will be supported long into the future, and you can learn more about it here!
Part of the transition between the two different types of technology will require some downtime at the end of the year. In other words: from December 31st, the game will be down for “several days”.
There are only 7 days left of the Adobe Flash version of Club Penguin Rewritten, and the game will be down for several days starting on [December] 31st, which is when we will complete our move to HTML5.

This is important if you enjoy Club Penguin Rewritten, so please be aware that there is only one week left to enjoy the current “version” of the game before it’s retired.

They’ve stated that everything should be transferred, although to be honest, I’m not exactly certain about friends; it’s possible the technology could be different. I’ll try to find out.

I’m confused, is Club Penguin Rewritten going to be down, or is the html version (/2020 at the end of url) going to be down? If Club Penguin Rewritten is going to be down, then is it going to happen after Adobe stops supporting it, or like in about a day?

Both will be down, although the HTML5 version is already currently down. It’ll happen next week (31st December). 🙂

Its actually kinda sad the newspaper is gonna change. cpr is modernizing a lot of things, such as items, rooms and now the newspaper ;-;. honestly, most of the players prefer the old design instead of the modern one, because besides being more authentic, its even more nostalgic.
I really dont know what made them think about the possibility of changing the newspaper, which kinda makes me wonder my ”future in cpr”.

A lot of people seem to be disappointed and as a lonely person, it will be a boring couple of days without CPR, but I’m excited to begin this new chapter with the community. I hope it doesn’t take too long, but I also hope the moderators do what they can to bring us the best experience possible!
