CP Rewritten: Operation Swarm Assets Completed
Just a little update on the release of Operation Swarm: it’s still unclear when it’ll be released, and it’s clear that it has encountered substantial delays. However, one developer has stated that development of the party concluded a while ago.
Stu [one administrator] has finished all the party assets already, we’re just waiting for Thorn’s [other administrator] server implementation to be finished.

As such, it looks entirely plausible that Operation Swarm’s release is approaching soon, especially given that the party assets have been finished. The issue appears to be with just launching it now.

Server implementation basically refers to things like setting the files live, instead of having to actually still create the party!

Re: Party release: Since CPR’s Advent calendar traditionally begins on Dec. 14, my guess is that the EPF event will release today or tomorrow and segue into the Christmas party. Even if the event drops on, say, the 17th, we can always backtrack and obtain the Advent items for the 14th, 15th, and 16th. However, if the EPF event is delayed another week or more, perhaps it would be better to launch it in January and focus on the Holiday party.

Yeah, I thought about that. But if the forest is custom, it might be hard to add the Advent calendar or the calendar might look out of place. It can always get moved, though. Perhaps an EPF Christmas party would be the best way to end 2020. Just add RH and TH to the mix and we are good to go. I just realized that the team can’t do the EPF event in January (or do it without hours of recoding) because it’s being created in Flash, I presume, and we are converting to HTML shortly.
After 5 insane years, my avalanche has finally ended. I’m ready to party.

Ah, that’s a good point about the issues with holding Operation Swarm in January – I hadn’t thought about that! If you don’t mind me asking, what avalanche? 🙂

It’s so complex and convoluted, there is no way I could detail it here. Suffice it to say, I live in an area that is absurdly tough on small business. NY is broken and run by idiots, to put it mildly.

Sort of personally in the sense that I have contact with them, but that rarely happens – I’m not exactly sure if the relationship could be deemed particularly positive as most of my contact this year has been me voicing concerns 🙃 In this case, Gravix said something which seemed a bit too blunt to quote directly, so he kindly provided another upon my request.
