CP Rewritten: Pirate Party Plot Conclusions
The Pirate Party has officially ended on Club Penguin Rewritten, with all of the decorations having been removed! However, you might still be curious as to how the plot all tied together, especially given the mysterious footprints which appeared on Shellbeard’s ship.
Rockhopper has written that Shellbeard was tricked into travelling to a different island that doesn’t exist with a fraudulent treasure map. In addition, Rockhopper has been able to set sail from the island safely too; whereas it was previously assumed that the sunk ship at the Beach was the Migrator, it turns out that was actually a decoy!
Alongside that, Gary has confirmed that the footprints which were found on The Black Shell did indeed belong to Herbert. It’s still a bit of a mystery why these randomly appeared, but I imagine that there’ll probably be an event later in the year which fills in some of the loose ends to the plot – perhaps Operation Swarm?

CP Rewritten: Operation Swarm to Occur “Early Next Year”
Operation Swarm was a custom EPF event being planned by Club Penguin Rewritten last year, before it was sadly scrapped. The team announced that they hoped to be able to hold it again in the future, but for the first time, they’ve given a more firm commitment that it will be “early next year”.
Operation Swarm will be early next year – not in November, but earlier than that.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorI would like to re-iterate my caution about this event though! In the past, I’ve warned that it’s worth being weary that this event could always be postponed further, simply because it’s such an ambitious one to hold. November of this year was previously the team’s “aim”, and although they’re being more clear with a firm commitment now, it’s worth noting that circumstances can always prevent this from being achieved, especially with such an ambitious event.
Planned room for Operation Swarm in 2020 before it was scrapped If all goes to plan in recreating the scrapped event, Operation Swarm will probably still contain a range of custom rooms and an exciting storyline! However, at the moment, I think it’s just too early to tell what form this could take and when.

CP Rewritten: Operation Swarm – Scrapped Mission Screen
As you might be aware, Operation Swarm was an event which the Club Penguin Rewritten team were planning last year, but it sadly had to be cancelled. Despite that though, the team have shared a few of the designs which they had planned, and they shared another of those last night. It shows the mission screen, from which players would’ve been able to begin their daily mission.
Although this looks really exciting, it’s worth noting that it’s likely been scrapped; although there’s an ambition to hold the event again in the future, there’s no guarantee that it will use the same designs or be at such a large scale. I still felt this was worth sharing though since it really does look exciting, so hopefully there’ll be more news on the EPF soon!

CP Rewritten: Further Operation Swarm Information
For those unaware, Operation Swarm was a party planned for last year which involved a nefarious plot by Herbert, but it was later cancelled. The team have since stated that they hope to run the event on the new HTML5 client, but haven’t provided many details until now.
Last night, the team stated that an “aim” for the event would for it to be in November. Although this isn’t necessarily guaranteed, it effectively conveys how the party shouldn’t be expected in the immediate future.
We can aim for November – no promises though
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorIn addition, the team also revealed two of the room designs from when the party was initially planned. It should be stressed that there likely will be some modifications when/if the party occurs, but I thought they were cool and worth sharing!
Although Operation Swarm would’ve been exciting, it’s notable that it seems likely the event won’t occur until at least November, so please don’t assume it’ll be anytime soon!

CP Rewritten: Ambition to Convert Operation Swarm to HTML5
A common question is one asking why Operation Swarm was cancelled rather than delayed until next year. The reasoning is because by January, Club Penguin Rewritten will be using different technology called HTML5, and Operation Swarm was developed with the current technology called Flash. These two aren’t compatible with each other, so even though all the party assets were completed, they’d have to be completely redone.
The team have now indicated an ambition to try and do that, which means that Operation Swarm could happen early next year.
I’ll be working with Gravix [developer] to convert everything for HTML5. I hope to actually change up a few things and try some new technology out. I’m planning on working with him to bring this to life in our HTML5 client. The aim is for January but ZERO PROMISES.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorI must level with you: I would strongly advise not getting your hopes up; based on my judgement, which may be disputed, the chance of Operation Swarm still actually happening is probably extremely slim; the team have refused to guarantee that it’ll be released, stating they cannot make any promises, and understandably so given the challenging task to convert everything.
The information on this has been changing constantly, and my understanding is that the Club Penguin Rewritten team have wanted this post to be put out, but as a consequence of this changing information, I must provide a strong caveat by warning that I am heavily skeptical it will run: it is merely an ambition for now.

CP Rewritten: Operation Swarm Cancelled
I can imagine that this post will be disappointing for many to read, especially after all the excitement which has been built up over the last month: Operation Swarm has been cancelled, and will not be happening.
The team released this statement a few moments ago.
We’ve decided to cancel Operation: Swarm due to it being delayed so much that it would now conflict with the upcoming Holiday Party. I know this will be upsetting for a lot of people, and I’m really sorry that I have again let the community down by falling behind of schedule. You all deserve better. We’ll be making some changes and work harder to ensure this pattern does not continue in to the next year. Later today, the island will return to normal and the December Penguin Style will be released along with some construction for the Holiday Party. Thank you for reading.
-Thorn, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorThe transition to a new technology (HTML5) at the end of this year is likely why the party has been cancelled completely rather than just delayed. I appreciate fully that by sharing this news, I’ll be spreading heavy disappointment, and I understand any frustration which may be felt. I can only share what’s been revealed, and unfortunately, that news is the party has been cancelled. The compensation of the Treasure Book code and coins will still be released.

CP Rewritten: Operation Swarm Assets Completed
Just a little update on the release of Operation Swarm: it’s still unclear when it’ll be released, and it’s clear that it has encountered substantial delays. However, one developer has stated that development of the party concluded a while ago.
Stu [one administrator] has finished all the party assets already, we’re just waiting for Thorn’s [other administrator] server implementation to be finished.
-Gravix, Club Penguin Rewritten developmentAs such, it looks entirely plausible that Operation Swarm’s release is approaching soon, especially given that the party assets have been finished. The issue appears to be with just launching it now.
I’ll be sure to keep you updated, waddle on!

CP Rewritten: Herbert & Klutzy Disguises to Return
The Klutzy and Herbert Disguises will be returning to Club Penguin Rewritten later this month as part of the items for Operation Swarm! You may recognise them from a few years ago, as they were available at Operation Blackout, but neither have since been available (until this month).
Interestingly, the team stated that these costumes will form part of the storyline, which probably helps in giving us a clearer idea of what the event will be about!
Both the Klutzy outfit and Herbert outfit will be making a return this party [Operation Swarm]. It is part of the storyline anyway!
-stu, Club Penguin RewrittenAs a reminder, everyone will be able to obtain these items, irrespective of which side you choose once the party begins. Thank you very much for reading!

CP Rewritten: Items in Operation Swarm Accessible to All
Previously, there’s been a series of concerns raised by people having to select whether they’ll fight with or against Herbert; when selecting a side, you’ll lose out being able to experience some content, as you can read about here.
As a result of this, many have been concerned about whether there’ll be items that they can’t access. Fortunately, this won’t be the case: everyone can access all items in Operation Swarm irrespective of the side they choose!
During the party there will be a party catalog that ALL players can view for free. There are no limitations on items.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorThe party catalog remains a bit mystery, but it’s worth noting that the Ski Patrol Outfit will be returning during the party. Hopefully though, this post helps alleviate concerns now that it’s known nobody risks losing out on items!

CP Rewritten: Compensation for Operation Swarm Delay
Earlier in the week, it was confirmed that there would be a code released on Club Penguin Rewritten as an apology for the delay to Operation Swarm. However, today, it was confirmed what that code would unlock:
- 25,000 (25K) coins
- Access to the Treasure Book (three picks)
The code will be released within a week of Operation Swarm being launched, and I’ll definitely be sure to share it with you – it isn’t one to miss, especially with how substantial the compensation is!
