CP Rewritten: “Save Outfits” Feature to be Introduced

One of the most common requests on Club Penguin Rewritten since it launched has been an option to save outfits, which would allow penguins to easily switch between different outfits when editing their playercard rather than needing to individually select each item again. This has now been confirmed by the team as something which they’ll “definitely” be adding in the future!

Many have been talking about a save outfit option – this was an idea we had in Flash and it will definitely be released in HTML5.

It’s not entirely known when this feature will be introduced, but the team did introduce a change today which sought to speed up the loading times for clothing items. Hopefully it’ll be in the relatively near future, especially since this has been such a popular request!

Oh, nice. Didn’t know it was official. I suggested it the other day on Discord, but it got deleted (after receiving several likes). Grrr! I did a quick search and didn’t find where it had already been suggested, so I thought I was “safe.” I guess Protobot mentions something about outfit saver, but I missed it. Regardless, I don’t think it should have gotten deleted since it was a serious suggestion.

Though I tend to stick with one outfit, I like to change it every now and again. I hardly ever wear “special dance” items because I have to remove my current outfit, and it takes forever and a day to find everything again. And by the time I find my body item, I will have forgotten what else I was wearing, so I take a picture of my outfit beforehand for reference. It becomes a whole thing. (I wrote my post like this to make you laugh . . . hopefully.) Outfit saver is a feature I will definitely use.

The other info. regarding puffles and CJ is exciting too. It seems the game is making progress with these behind-the-scenes developers. I guess it will depend on how fast these long talked about ideas come to fruition.

I have two questions for you: 1) What does updating the UI do? Will the game/animations look different, or does said update help to make the game run more smoothly? CJ ran pretty well, Fire not so much. 2) Will updating the UI for CJ help with the other CJ games (e.g., Fire and Water) or does each game have its own UI that will need to be updated?

    Thanks.

I guess that the team recognised it as a serious suggestion but already knew that an Outfit Saver was a common request so suggestions didn’t really make a difference; I remember it being requested going all the way back to classic Club Penguin! Heh, switching outfits can definitely be chaotic though!

Updating the UI means that things will look slightly different when the game is played (for example, the matchmaker screen no longer just being a basic blue box). I don’t believe it’ll have any significant impact for the other Card Jitsu games, although some of the new UI technically could be copied for it.
