Penguins Around the World – October 2021
For the past few months, I’ve been trying something new by posting your photos submitted from all across the world! In case you missed it, you can view some previous photos here, but I’m pleased to share some more really beautiful ones which have been submitted over the last month.
The first two shots have been taken in Victoria, Australia by Snowpoppy19 and Piplup96! I think they’re absolutely adorable; it’s like the puffle is hiding from the penguin in the first one, and playing together in the second one. The drawing of Cadence is another beautiful piece by Lakra, which looks amazing! You can zoom into each photo by clicking them.
I realise that this is difficult to continue as a series without new submissions, but if you’d like to be featured in the next post:
- Take a photo of something Club Penguin related in front of a nice background – it doesn’t need to be anything too special, even a tree outdoors would be super cool! It must be your own photo, and please don’t include any identifying personal information in the photo (including your own face)
- Email the photo to photo@clubpenguinmountains.com or DM it on Twitter to @CPMountains – please include your penguin name if you would like it to be featured in the blog post!
I’d like to give a huge thank you to Snowpoppy19, Piplup96 and Lakra for submitting photos this month – they’re really amazing!

CP Rewritten: Herbert to Offer New Background During Halloween
This is just a quick post for those looking forward to meeting Herbert during the Halloween Party, as the Club Penguin Rewritten team have confirmed that he will be offering a new background which hasn’t been available before! The details of this background aren’t known yet, but it’ll likely be themed around the party.
Herbert has only ever had one other background before, which can be seen below. It was previously available at three events: Operation Blackout in 2017, the Waddle on Party in 2018, and the Halloween Party in 2019.

Herbert’s first background (not the new one) The team also confirmed that there won’t initially be any scheduled meet-up times published for him, as his first visits will be spontaneous and random, but they will be “friendly” to most timezones. However, there should eventually be meet-up times. Given that Herbert is a very elusive mascot to spot though, I’d recommend checking the Herbert Tracker for any spontaneous ones, since the server will likely be very crowded!

Club Penguin 16th Anniversary Giveaway
In order to celebrate the 16th anniversary of Club Penguin today, I thought that it’d be fun to hold a little giveaway! Just like the Easter Egg Hunt giveaway from earlier in the year, the prize is a brand new Club Penguin Spy Pack Kit, and there’ll also be some cards included.
The pack contains a variety of things, particularly a case and stylus intended for the Nintendo DS, but it can really be used for anything, and it adds nicely to any Club Penguin collection! You can see an image of the prize below, and it’ll be mailed to the winner. Anyone can enter, though as this is a parcel, I should note that it’ll probably take a several weeks for it to arrive overseas because it’ll be sent with the International Economy (ie. by sea rather than by air) service.

The giveaway has now closed! The winner was PoppetCat – congratulations, please check your email! There wasn’t an Entry Question for this giveaway, so there aren’t any answers to share. If you didn’t win, don’t worry; there’ll be plenty more chances in the future!
The giveaway will close on 26th October at 9am GMT. Best of luck if you choose to enter!

Club Penguin’s 16th Anniversary is Today!
Today marks sixteen years since Club Penguin officially launched! It’s remarkable how a small idea made such a hugely positive impact on both the world and the web. Above all though, it still amazes me that several years after its official closure, the community remains so strong too.

I’m very grateful to Club Penguin for everything which it has provided and taught me, from the skills of writing and website development to being introduced to such a wonderful community. The sixteenth anniversary feels like a notable milestone, but I think that it’s made more special that there’s still so many penguins around to celebrate it. I hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

CP Rewritten: 16th Anniversary Party Guide
On 24th October, it’ll be sixteen years since classic Club Penguin launched back in 2005, so there’s a couple of decorations on the island to celebrate! The most notable area for this event is the Coffee Shop, as that’s been beautifully decorated to mark the occasion, with even a special cake.
An iconic part of each anniversary is the hat, and you can collect the 16th Anniversary Hat, located to the right of the cake, by simply clicking it. If you don’t have it already, you can also obtain the Celebration stamp by blowing out the candles on the cake, which effectively means clicking it.

The other room which has been transformed for this event is the Iceberg! As usual for this event, it has been tipped, which means you can pick up the Iceberg Tipper as a free item here. For some reason though, it’s not possible to actually tip the Iceberg through drilling, and instead this would have automatically happened upon entering the room, regardless of how many penguins are there.

In the past, there have been mascot visits for Anniversary Parties! It’s unclear if that’ll happen again this year, or which mascots would visit, but it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled for all mascots until the event ends. The party will end on 27th October.

CP Rewritten: Herbert Confirmed to Visit for Halloween
This news probably isn’t that surprising given his heavy involvement with this event, but Herbert has now been officially confirmed to visit for the Halloween Party! While this was previously only assumed, the Club Penguin Rewritten team have now directly confirmed the news.
Q: Please say that Herbert will still be visiting the island even though we had to scare him away!
Answer by team: Yup!There’s still a couple of details which aren’t known in regards to mascot visits at this event, namely if Herbert will have a new background or not, and whether Gary will also be visiting. Given that Gary has visited at every Halloween Party in the past, it’s likely that he will, but this hasn’t been officially confirmed in the same way yet.

For the best chance of meeting Herbert, I’d recommend checking the tracker as that will be kept updated with all the latest information regarding his visits! Thank you very much for reading, and good luck meeting him!

CP Rewritten: Welcome Room Opens
After much anticipating following the team’s announcement regarding this, the Welcome Room has been introduced on Club Penguin Rewritten! It can be accessed from the Town, though it also connects to the Plaza. At the moment, it’s currently themed around the Halloween Party, but this room will be here to stay!
It’s worth noting that the “Welcome” building on the right can’t currently be accessed, but something will be implemented there in the future. It’s not known what the team are planning for it yet though.

CP Rewritten: UFO Pin Location
A new pin has been hidden on Club Penguin Rewritten! You can find this pin inside the Underground Pool at the bottom left of the room. The pin is the UFO.
Fun fact: if this looks familiar, it’s actually the one which I used in this year’s April Fools prank!

To obtain this pin, click it and then click “Yes”. It will be then be added to your inventory so that you can wear it as well as your stampbook! If someone is blocking it, I would suggest going on an emptier server to obtain it.

Club Penguin Rewritten: Halloween Party 2021 – Full Guide

The Halloween Party has taken over the island on Club Penguin Rewritten, and it’s a particularly spooky event with lots to explore! This post will provide a full guide to the party, from the brand new Corn Maze to many of the free items.
While no mascots have been formally confirmed yet, it is likely that Gary and Herbert will visit at some point given their heavily involvement with the party. Both their trackers can be found here and here respectively.
Update – 28th October: Ghost Hunt has now also been added to the island! You can find a guide to that here, and there’s also a code for some spooky costumes that can be found here.
Corn Maze Guide
To begin the Corn Maze, head to the Mine Shack and waddle between the two pieces of corn at the top of the room. In light of the different room set-up, I’ve decided to do something a little different and show a video of the Corn Maze. However, I’ll also include some written steps:
- Getting the key from Herbert: go right
- Go up to the top of the path, ignoring the left entrance
- Turn left at the top of the path
- Continue left then go downwards
- Running from Herbert: go back to the entrance, using the reverse of the steps above
- Continue leftwards, past Klutzy, up until the scarecrow
- At the scarecrow, go upwards and follow that path to the Finish point
- Becoming a vampire: enter the coffin at the bottom left of the Mine
- Finishing: Return to the Corn Maze, and once again go to the place Herbert was located at, then escape using the same steps above
- You’ll then be brought to the new room!
At the end of the Corn Maze, there’s two items which you can obtain:
- Corn Maze Background: position yourself in front of the camera, just next to the two orange pumpkins, and then click the camera
- Halloween Lei: located in the box floating in the green swamp

Items
Besides the UFO Pin located at the Boiler Room, there are two additional items located across the island:
- Ghost Costume: located at the top of the Haunted House, which can be accessed from the Mine Shack
- Purple Bat Wings: located at the bottom left of the Plaza
It’s worth noting that, in addition to the items scattered across the island, there are two catalogs at this event. The first can be found by clicking the icon at the bottom right of your screen, while the Monster Maker can be found by clicking the icon at the Boiler Room since that’s been transformed into Gary’s Secret Lab for this event.
Neither of these catalogs have any secrets hidden within them!
That concludes the guide to the Halloween Party for now, but there’s still plenty of spooky rooms to explore! There’ll also be new content added soon, including a Ghost Hunt, and mascots are also expected to visit who will have their own backgrounds.

CP Rewritten: Halloween – Map Sneak Peek
The Halloween Party is almost upon us, with it scheduled to begin from tomorrow on Club Penguin Rewritten! While there have been many sneak peeks released already, and some parts to the event which also remain a mystery, the team have released another sneak peek of something to expect.
This sneak peek shows the map which will be present at the Halloween Party! As you can tell, the island will be consumed by darkness again, so it seems like many buildings with have their lights glowing.

Potentially the most exciting part of the event, the Corn Maze, isn’t actually featured on the map above, but it’ll still be accessible from the island when the party begins. Thank you very much for reading, be sure to check back for more of the latest Club Penguin Rewritten news and guides!
