CP Rewritten: Puffle Digging No Longer Planned
Earlier in the month, the Club Penguin Rewritten team stated that if the puffle designs were updated, Puffle Digging would “probably” be included in that update. As you may be aware, the puffle designs are going to be updated soon.
However, that’s left many people wondering if Puffle Digging is going to be added to the game. In the recent official blog post, it was confirmed that this wouldn’t be the case.
We’ve not thought about Puffle Digging, and we don’t plan on adding this feature any time soon.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorFor those unaware, the Puffle Digging feature was effectively one that allowed your puffle to find items and coins as you waddled across the island.
Puffle Digging in action (April 2014) That being said, besides Puffle Hats, the team have confirmed that they are planning on allowing people to wear a hand item and carry a puffle. Currently, you can only do one and not the other.
We do plan on adding features such as making the puffles not hand items anymore, so you can wear a hand item and rock your puffles at the same time.

CP Rewritten: Expressive Grey Puffle Sneak Peek
As part of the upcoming change to the Pet Shop, the Club Penguin Rewritten team confirmed yesterday that puffles would also be receiving an update to a more modern design. Earlier today, the team shared an official blog post addressing concerns, in which they also included a sneak peek.
It depicts a grey puffle with slightly more expression than you may have previously seen!
In addition to this, the team confirmed that the Puffle Care system will be tweaked so that certain stats will go down as you take one action. This is effectively reverting it to what it was before. (thanks Degarmoo for letting me know!)

Club Penguin Rewritten: Puffle Hats Planned
Just under two years ago, the Club Penguin Rewritten team ruled out the possibility of Puffle Hats being added to the game. However, earlier today, the team confirmed that they would be switching to the more modern puffle design when the Pet Shop is reconstructed.
As a result of this, the team will be able to introduce new features, including Puffle Hats! For those unaware, that was a feature where you could simply allow your puffle to wear a hat, and there was a huge variety of different hats which you could pick.
Although the team have confirmed them as “planned”, they have stressed that they won’t be included in the update that switches the puffle’s styles. Instead, they wish to “take things slow”, so not much exploration has gone into puffle hats yet.
While a time for release isn’t known, it is pretty notable that they’ve gone from ruled out to planned, so I thought this was worth sharing! Thank you for reading, waddle on!

CP Rewritten: Pet Shop Changes Concerns Addressed
Earlier today, I reported that the team were planning to update the Pet Shop to a more modern design. There’s been a lot of controversy about this change since I published that story, and the team have addressed the concerns, so it felt right to share their statement.
It should also be noted that despite some discontent, the team have confirmed the change and intend to release it. But this was their explanation for the change!
Something like this [Pet Shop change] is needed on our side as we want to branch out and bring in new content to keep things interesting. We are NOT decorating the entire island with the “modern” feel. This is from 2011, which we are also based on.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorTo address some of the questions which I’ve received, there are no plans for the Puffle Hotel or the Puffle Park that you may recall from classic Club Penguin! Those are all “post-2013”, which Club Penguin Rewritten isn’t based on. However, it does utilise content from 2011, which this Pet Shop design is from. In addition, there are no other rooms planned to receive an update; the Plaza will not be updated either.
Although the changes to rooms will not expand further than the Pet Shop, the puffle designs will also be updated with the change, which I’m actually pretty pleased to hear about. That news was revealed earlier today by the team.
I think it’s implied that if the Pet Shop changes, so will the puffles..
-Thorn, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorI hope that helps with any concerns about the change, but please let me know if not!

CP Rewritten: Modern Pet Shop Design Planned
The Pet Shop has been flooded on Club Penguin Rewritten, and construction is going to begin next week to rebuild and repair the room! However, the team have also confirmed that once the construction is complete, a more modern room design will be used instead.
You can compare the two below; the image on the left is the previous design before the flooding, and the image on the right is similar or identical to the one planned for once construction has concluded.
Previous design Planned design
The change was confirmed by stu, an administrator for the game, who referred to it as the “2011 design”. I must admit that I’m much more fond of the planned design, so it’s good news to hear. Thank you very much for reading!

Club Penguin Rewritten: Water Party 2020 – Full Guide
The Water Party has begun on Club Penguin Rewritten for the next week! Although there aren’t any quests or many activities for this event, there’s still several free items and rooms to explore! This post will provide a guide to the key parts of the party.
Here’s a list of the free items located across the island for this event:
- Seashell Necklace at the Beach
- Blue Lei at the Dock
- Umbrella Hat at the Coffee Shop
- Ice-Cream Apron at the Plaza
- Green Duck at Cove
There’s a few rooms that are well-decorated, including the Pet Shop which has literally been flooded, but a room which you may not be aware of is the Mega Whale! In order to access it, all you need to do is head to the Iceberg and click the blue part on the left of your screen.
That concludes the guide to this event, though there’ll still be at least one code distributed at some point this month! Thank you very much for reading, I hope that this guide helped!

CP Rewritten: Lei Likely to be Available Tomorrow
The Water Party will be taking over the island on Club Penguin Rewritten tomorrow! It’s already been announced that there will be a few items, but with the exception of the Umbrella Hat, there haven’t previously been many specifics released until now.
Earlier today, the Club Penguin Rewritten team hinted that there will probably be at least one lei available at the event. In addition to an image of leis, the team used these emojis as a hint in reference to tomorrow: 🌸 💙
(A lei is the neck item) I’m sure that you’ll be able to make your own judgement based on them, but my personal prediction is that the flower refers to flower leis, and the image of leis indicates pretty heavily that some leis will be available for your penguin’s outfit tomorrow once the party has begun.
Be sure to check back then for a guide to the party – thank you very much for reading!

CP Rewritten: Fair to Occur in September
It has been widely anticipated that the Fair will be the party in September, as its previously been labelled an “annual event” by the Club Penguin Rewritten team. Earlier this evening, confirmation of that was provided by the team.
The exact dates are not yet known, but the Fair will definitely occur in September.
This probably does indicate that the “Spooky Fair” idea which was floated around but vetoed last year has been ruled out. However, no further details are known yet, though I will of course let you know once they are!

CP Rewritten: No Mascot to Visit for the Water Party
Many have been curious about whether a mascot will visit for the Water Party this month on Club Penguin Rewritten. It has now been confirmed today that there will not be a mascot visiting for it.
This is part of the “calming down of development” for this month so that the team can focus on other things.
We’re taking a small break on these things this month so we can focus on other developments for parties. A mascot takes a lot of time out of the development and staff to focus on schedules and giveaways, etc.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorThe team did provide further information that mascot visits would resume in September, and I’ll be sure to provide more details once they are confirmed. Thank you for reading!
