A new edition of the Club Penguin Rewritten Times has been released ahead of the Water Party which begins next week! It goes into a bit of detail about what to expect, along with confirming that the party will last a week.
For the best experience, I would recommend reading the paper for yourself online as it always contains a variety of cool things such as artwork, but as always, I will summarise the news revealed.
This paper reveals:
- The Water Party begins on August 20th and ends on August 27th
- During the event, there’ll be numerous old and new items available across the island, such as the Umbrella Hat. The Mega Whale will also return
- On August 13th, a new Furniture Catalog, postcard selection and pin will be released
- There’ll be a new Stage play available from August 20th

CP Rewritten: Mega Whale to Return for the Water Party
This is just a bit of information regarding the upcoming Water Party this month that was revealed by the Club Penguin Rewritten team! If you attended the event in 2017, you may remember the Mega Whale which was accessible from the Iceberg.
It has now been confirmed that this room will be available again once the party starts. 🐳
In addition, the team emphasised it’ll be a party that won’t have a quest, so hearing that the Mega Whale will return is definitely welcomed news. As always, I’ll be sure to update you with anymore news released regarding the Water Party; there seems to be frequent fragments shared for this event.

CP Rewritten: Water Party Date Hinted
Earlier in the week, it was confirmed that the Water Party would be occurring on Club Penguin Rewritten! I just wanted to provide a little update as the team have given some indication about when to expect the event.
They’ve confirmed it will be released before August 25th, so the reasonable assumption from that is that the event will probably begin on August 20th. It’s unlikely that the event would be released next week, since there’s usually some greater build-up in the newspaper and the potential of construction.
In an official blog post, the team did put a check on expectations by warning that the party will be smaller so their time can be prioritised on other things. The team did maintain some things would still be changed from the 2017 event so that everyone has the chance to experience something different.

CP Rewritten Times: Issue #170 – Water Party this Month
A new edition of the Club Penguin Rewritten Times has been released, with the Medieval Party having concluded! Gary has reassured us that the threat has passed, but more interestingly, August’s party has been confirmed as the Water Party.
For the best experience, I would recommend reading the paper for yourself online as it always contains a variety of cool things such as artwork, but as always, I will summarise the news revealed.
This edition reveals:
- The Water Party will be returning this month
- On August 13th, a new Furniture Catalog, postcard collection and pin will be released
- A new Stage play will be released on August 20th
For what it’s worth, the Water Party was previously mentioned a year ago, where the team said they wanted to return it with a twist. The newspaper also confirms that the party will have “some twists here and there” compared to the event in 2017.

CP Rewritten: More Agent Content Planned for Later in the Year
It’s been almost nine months since Herbert was defeated at the end of November 2019! Since then, many people have been wondering about future updates to the Elite Penguin Force; so far, there’s primarily only been new Field-Op activities.
In response to a question on when there’ll be new content for the Penguin Secret Agency and agents, the team confirmed that more is planned for later in the year.
We want to do more for agents in general later on in the year; keep an eye out for that. Some cool things [on] our minds at the moment.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorIt’s certainly a mystery on what it could be! As you can see in the top of the image below, when Herbert was defeated, he did warn that we would see him again, so it’s possible that there’ll be some new plots revolving around him.
Unfortunately, we’ll need to wait a while to find out!
I will, of course, be sure to keep you updated as more is revealed. Thank you very much for reading, be sure to check back for more of the latest Club Penguin Rewritten news and guides!

CP Rewritten – HTML5: Igloo Plans, Hydro Hopper & Buddies
Happy August! Earlier in the week, I mentioned that I’d try to summarise all of the updates to the HTML5 version every once in a while, so I thought that’d be worth doing now since a lot has been added. As always, you can play it here.
The first big update is that Hydro Hopper has been added to the Dock! It’s the second mini-game to be on the new version, along with Puffle Roundup at the Pet Shop. The known bugs with this are the missing string, the fact your penguin colour doesn’t change, missing water ripples and transparency of the boat.
The second big update is the buddy list has been added! It doesn’t currently display your friends from the actual Flash version, but the latest update does allow you to search for friends. This means you no longer need to meet people in order to add them.
It is worth warning that it’s plausible that the Friends List could be reset before it properly launches though.
Improved igloo systems have been pledged by the team for a while now, and they have already stated that the bulk of the reform will be introduced with the new HTML5 version. A sneak peek has been released of the modern igloo system which makes decorating so much easier! You’ll also be able to save multiple igloos.
Igloo likes will be added, but unlike on classic Club Penguin, only the igloo creator will be able to see how many likes they have; they won’t appear publicly on the map.
Lastly, just a small piece of information about the transition from the current Flash client to the new HTML5 one: there will not be a farewell party for the transition. That pretty much covers all of the updates though, and I’ll of course keep you updated about new information as it is released!
