5 Rare Items I would Like to See Return

Hello, Duck here, and today I’ll be looking at 5 rare items in Club Penguin that I’d like to see return before flash Club Penguin ends. Rules: this excludes party hats and pins; and by the Club Penguin Wiki, items that haven’t been available for four years or longer are considered ‘rare’, so I’ll be going with that.

    1. Black graduation cap

The first item on my list is well know from the fact that former Polo Field commonly wore it- the black graduation cap. This item costed 100 coins and (with most items) only members could buy it. The last and only time this hat was available was in 2009, which is a whole seven year ago! For such an old and probably wanted item, I think it should be brought back, and also be a nice item for no-members. Similar items to this are the original graduation cap (that’s blue) and the graduation hat that we saw at the penguin prom and was purple.

    black-grad-cap

    2. Blue Mail Bag

The next item is a special item that would be brilliant if Club Penguin release it again. However, this may be a bit controversial. The blue mail bag was released in 2008 and was available until 2010, so it’s been unavailable for a few years now. When Club Penguin brought out the new mail system, they sent a postcard to all players, by which they could obtain this item. I think it should be purchasable again (at 100 coins) because it came out because of a major change in Club Penguin, and we still use postcards all the time today.

    3. Astro Barrier T-Shirt

The third item on my list I see as an ‘Easter egg’ on Club Penguin. The Astro barrier t-shirt is of course based on one of the island’s three arcade games. The item was last purchasable in 2009, and it’ll would be a nice item to bring back as we say goodbye to the games we all know and love. But what do I mean by an ‘Easter egg’? Well this item has appeared on the cover of the penguin style catalogue for September 2007; on the mancala postcard; in the real-life book ‘Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal: Heroes Unite!’ in the video ‘Orange Puffle’s Tasty Cartoon’; in two issues of the club penguin times and on the clothes rack in the clothes shop. So considering this item crops up all the time, it should be brought back.

    4. Doom Drone

When Club Penguin is on its last few days, I want to go on a spending spree. But what better way to do this than buying the Doom Drone body item! This was last available in 2012, for the Marvel takeover and is an awesome looking item. It costed a whopping 3,000 coins, and so is the most expensive item in the game, and therefore worthy of coming back.

    doom_drone_icon

    5. Penguin Play Award

Finally, we come to another significant item- the penguin play award. The penguin play awards was an event held in 2009 and 2010. But although it never returned again, in 2013 we got the Hollywood Party, where we got a similar item called the gold award. Many penguins at the time enjoyed the penguin play awards, so it would be great if club penguin brought this item back.

So that’s it for my list, what rare items would you like to see return? Until next time, waddle on!

    The History of the Plaza

    plaza

As you can see, there is the Dojo in the plaza. That was the original plan. It didn’t fit in very well with the Plaza because the pet shop is right next to it and that is where you adopt puffles. Rsnail said this, ” The original plan was to include the dojo in the Plaza, but the Pet Store and the Pizza Parlor were not ready, so the Dojo was hidden on the map with the iceberg. The mountain became the perfect home for the Dojo and later Card-jitsu. When Club Penguin launched on October 24th, 2005 the Dojo and all the clothing items were ready to be unlocked. ”  I personally think, having the dojo near the Mountains is fine. Little fact: There has been only 5 pins in the Plaza.

When CP opened, the Plaza was somewhat different than the picture above. There was no Dojo there but there was the Pizza Shop and the Pet Shop. Where the dojo was was placed, there was some trees and two tables. plaza_2006

During to the Pizza Parlor Opening, there was a banner on the Pet Shop that said “Grand Opening” March 17. This was due to the fact because, the Pet Shop would open that day.pizza_parlor_opening_plaza

In 2007, they added “Tours.” Well, “Tours” is now in the “Ski Village.”

    cpwikia_tour

Well, there is not that much to say about the Plaza in 2007 but I guarntee you that they added just “Tours.” plaza_2007

In late 2007, they replaced the two tables for construction. They wanted to build a stage. In October 2007, the stage was nearly completed. Finally, in November the stage was built. Here is how it looked, when it was built.plaza_before_2012

In years time, the Plaza had a completely new look. Everything was updated. plaza

This plaza is way better! It features and oh my… its just epic!   There is not much to say but something in 2013 happened.

This was not expected. In 2013, Rainbow Puffles were realsed and members could adopt them. But how? In Plaza, they added the Puffle Hotel right between Pet Shop and Stage.

    plaza_with_puffle_hotel

Still the same, just another room added. I cant say very much but it looks cool.

On June 5 2014, the stage was gone. I remember I was on server Blizzard and we were all saying “DONT TAKE STAGE DOWN.” I had to leave. When I came back 2 hours later, the stage was gone. Thats it! The Mall was there. Not many people were there. Well, this is the current plaza. What will happen next to the Plaza? Comment below!

My Opinion on the #ProjectSuperSecret Mascots

    new-mascots

    Hey everyone,

Pup1one has been kind enough to share some looks of the #ProjectSuperSecret mascots, which you have probably seen. In today’s post, I’m going to be giving my opinions on the look of the ones which were leaked (Rockhopper and Aunt Arctic). In case you’ve not seen the mascots as of yet, here they are!

    cvu2dlqw8aay6fz
Credit to Pup1one for this image!

WHAT ARE THOSE? Is that Sasquatch with a pirate hat on? Here’s the problem with these penguins. The majority of players want the old Club Penguin style to return, however this is becoming newer and newer. Let’s start with Aunt Arctic, because at least she looks fairly decent.

    This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Aunt Arctic has a much more ugly look, however I can imagine her in Project Super Secret looking amazing as a sprite (a player in-game), even though she doesn’t look that cool on the sticker.

One thing to note is that we saw this version of Aunt Arctic in the 2015 Club Penguin Mash-Up. Now we know that it was actually a Project Super Secret sneak peek and we shouldn’t really expect to see it before then.

    This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I just can’t imagine Rockhopper looking like that, especially when comparing him to his second player card. He literally looks like Sasquatch. But what I want to do is to put things into perspective. This is the Rockhopper Plush toy that was sold in stores a few years ago.

    rockhopper-plush-series-1

Very cute, very fluffy, great to hold. Now imagine that monster that we just saw instead of that. No-one would want to buy that because it looks so ugly, yet alone choose to hold it. If Club Penguin was to launch a new merchandise line (which many of us hope they do) the products actually need to look nice. For that to happen, the mascot needs to look nice. IS THAT MONSTER NICE? Point proven.

One thing which I am curious about is when Club Penguin is going to officially show us these mascots. I’m writing this on the 26th, and Club Penguin promised us Project Super Secret “update” today, so it might be published on the What’s New Blog by the time you’re reading this. However, this sneak peek was originally just posted on a fan-blog. Although that blog does have a large audience, the majority of players probably haven’t seen the new mascot yet.

I just really hope that these designs are not fixed and that they could change. If Rockhopper looks like that, imagine how the other mascots might look. But if a large amount of players dislike when Project Super Secret launches, perhaps the design will get changed. Do you like these new mascots?

    Waddle on!

Club Penguin 11th Anniversary Special Post

    11thanniversaryopening

    Hey everyone,

Eleven years ago, a project that began in modern-day room 525 had its beta testing end. Eleven years ago, today, Club Penguin was launched. A few years later, on this very day, Torres 126 was created. I think that that is pretty special and amazing. Today I just want to talk, and not all of it is going to be positive. Let’s start with my Top 5 memories, which is positive!

After some inspiration by Blue21102’s post, I’ve decided to release my own top 5 memories, which is pretty difficult to do seeing how I started playing in 2009 and have so many memories which I can’t forget. I’m going to skip out some important memories to me because I’ve already covered them in my Birthday Week series. Without further ado, let’s begin.

    5. Meeting my First Mascot

I tried everything to meet a mascot. Back in those days, there weren’t many meet-up times and you had to be really well organised or really lucky to find him. I remember jumping with joy when Chrisdog93’s tracker said Cadence was online, however I didn’t get to my computer in time. I still remember that she was on the Nightclub Roof. We’ll never know if his tracker was accurate.

    rockhopperstamp

However, at some point during 2010-2012, I remember meeting a mascot for the very first time. It was Rockhopper, and it was a complete accident. I just logged on during the Holiday Party and I landed in the town. I remember being thrilled when that stamp above me appeared. I also remember having to eat lunch a few minutes after that. I ate fish on that day…don’t ask. It was still an amazing experience which I still remember.

    4. Club Penguin at School

If you don’t know already, I lived in South Africa for four years of my life, where I introduced a lot of people to Club Penguin. However, before then, I remember loads of people in my primary school playing Club Penguin. We used to trade Card-Jitsu codes and played together a lot. That was what Club Penguin was about! Those were the days!

    schoolicon

I plan on releasing another post about this, however I also once did a presentation about this website at school! It’s interesting though, because I know a lot of older players tend to hide the fact that they play Club Penguin from their friends at school. I intend on writing about this in the future/cover it in the rest of this post, but for now I suggest you check out this post by Blue21102!

    3. Great Parties, even in New CP, like Joining a Train in 2013

Along with Operation Blackout and the Halloween Parties, I really liked the Holiday Party in 2013. In particular, I liked the train, simply on the basis because ti was so much fun. I remember moderators having HUGE trains and just hanging out with my Club Penguin friends. That was something to remember.

    please-return-the-train

And, it was all for charity!

    2. Getting Postcards from Moderators

In 2014, there was a MASSIVE meet-up held by loads of moderators. I remember being able to be in an empty room with Polo Field (of which I was ignored but don’t worry, Polo apologised a few years later!) and getting a postcard from Saraapril!

However, the most special postcard was a “Happy Halloween” one from Daffodaily5. It was my first ever postcard from a moderator! The problem was that it somehow got deleted and of course, I sent an email to Club Penguin support.

    daffo-postcard

The day after, I read that email and I remember being thrilled! That is why it is my seventh top memory.

    1. The Community

2013 was a great year because it was the year which I joined chats and forums, of which only two I am still active on. But regardless of this, the community has had some great times. The community is a memory which isn’t quite over yet, but the penguins here are amazing.

DEBATE: What was the Best Year to Experience Club Penguin?

Eleven years of Club Penguin…most of them have been amazing. I recently read a blog post which was part of a debate on what the best year of Club Penguin was. At the end of the post, they asked their readers for our thoughts, and I figured that the topic would be quite interesting to read about. So, what was the best year to experience Club Penguin? Without further ado, here are my opinions on the best year of Club Penguin. Let’s start by eliminating a few.

    2005
    2006

    halloween_party_2006_town

2005 and 2006 were the starting years of Club Penguin. The game was small, but full of potential, and Disney hadn’t even bought it yet. The undeniable fact is that compared to now, the game was very basic. There wasn’t a large variety of rooms on the map.

Despite this, it’s still very difficult to rule out the early years of Club Penguin. There was hardly any criticism, and it was the first game of its kind. That is the reason why I’ve only chosen to rule out the first year and a half on Club Penguin, along with the possibility that many of us were not on the island during that time.

    2007

    water_party_2007_town

In this year, Disney acquired Club Penguin for $350 million, but to be honest, this wasn’t much of a big deal. Disney was still working largely behind the scenes at this point, and I doubt that players at the time would have felt a big difference to the year before.

The game had more decorations and more rooms were added, such as the Cove, but parties still remained very basic. It’s not the best year, and whilst players at the time must’ve really enjoyed it, the game still wasn’t at its peak.

    2014

    2015

    2015-09-16-15_42_16-play-now-_-club-penguin-1024x636

I’m sure we will all agree that 2014 and 2015 were decent years. We had some great parties, and even had a few TV specials. The problem is, this was the downfall years. There were more parties which were disliked than liked compared to years before. Takeovers were becoming more frequent the community was listened to less.

These were also sad-years as we saw a large Club Penguin lay-off. If Club Penguin kept going like they were in these years, the game would still be alright, but this is about finding the best year, of which these two definitely aren’t.

    2016

    frozen_party_town_frozen

Do I really need to explain why this is undoubtably the worst year on Club Penguin? Two month long takeovers with the majority of players really disliking this year? Files literally being copied and pasted from previously disliked parties?

    That leaves…

    2008

    2009

    2010

    2011

    2012

    2013

These are the years that come to mind when you think of Old Club Penguin, which is what the majority of people prefer. However, five years are still a bit too many in my opinion and technically, part of 2012 and all of 2013 are New Club Penguin. I still think that 2013 was alright though, so goodbye 2012!

    2012

    plaza_0

2012 was genuinely a good year for Club Penguin. It contained Operation Blackout, which was one of the most popular parties in the game’s history. It also had other popular parties, such as the Island Adventure Party and the Underwater Expedition. However, there are a few negatives which caused me to rule this game out.

Billybob began his resignation towards the end of the year. This was also the year of three major changes. Firstly, the rooms became the ones we know today. Secondly, the friend list could contain 500 friends instead of 100. These were awesome at the time (I still remember having a full friend list) but the long-time effects of that were and are negative. At this time, people protest against the new rooms. Not only that, but the friends list completely backfired and is now one of the most buggy things the entire time.

The other thing that changed for the worse in this year was the chat filter, which became a whitelist instead of a blacklist. The long-term effects of these changes are awful, but this year was still great! Ultimately, it wasn’t as good as other years.

    2010

    holiday-party-2010-004

2010 was not a bad year for Club Penguin, however there’s nothing that really makes it stand out. There aren’t many parties that come to mind which I go “Oh! That was amazing!” but there are for other years. The game was still doing very well at this time, but when there’s nothing memorable about this year, it’s very hard to write about it, yet alone rank it as the best year for Club Penguin.

    2008

    2009

    2011

    2013

Now we need to really get picky on which years we are getting rid off. Let’s have a really quick look at why each year is still on this list.

    2008

    submarine_party_coffee_shop

There was lots of new content in 2008, such as new mini-games and epic parties. Not only was content increasing in the game, but Disney launched a massive line of merchandise in this year, including Mix n’ Match Figures, Card Jitsu Trading Cards and the first Nintendo DS game. The game was getting more and more popular because of this, and these are a few of the reasons why this year is still on the list.

    2009

    alj

When you mention Old Club Penguin, people will almost certainly say 2009. This was, in my opinion, an excellent year for Club Penguin. You had some really solid parties, such as the Festival of Flight, and the game was receiving new merchandise. However, parties really made a difference in this year because it’s virtually the only reason why it’s still on this list.

    2011

Honestly, this year was just fun. There were five new events, as well as the return of some really awesome parties. But is that enough to justify it’s stay on this very competitive list? I think that this is one of my favourite years, but many disagree. Regardless, it isn’t my favourite. it’s with regret that this is not the best year for Club Penguin.

    2013

Sigh. The last good year of Club Penguin. You know, this year was just fun. There was interaction from the team and the players, there were great parties such as the Star Wars Takeover, the Hollywood Party and the trains at the Holiday Party and I think everyone enjoyed this year, regardless of the fact that it wasn’t old Club Penguin. We also got the app.

    2008

    2009

    2013

I miss these years. But which one is the best? Parties is what made 2009, whereas the other years were not built solely on parties, which is why I must eliminate 2009.

2008 or 2013? Merchandise or a fun, developed year?

A fun developed year. I can’t believe I just typed that.

    1. 2013
    2. 2008
    3. 2009
    4. 2011
    5. 2010
    6. 2014
    7. 2007
    8. 2015
    9. 2006
    10. 2005
    11. 2016

What exactly does that prove? Well, there’s two things that I’d really like to say.

Firstly, 2013 is New Club Penguin. Granted, the next four places are old Club Penguin. But that proves that there is still hope that New Club Penguin could be a success, a game that we all love. I mean, making this lost was extremely emotional to write.

That brings me to my second point. WHY IS 2016 WORSE THEN THE YEAR WHICH CLUB PENGUIN STARTED? DON’T GIVE ME THE EXCUSE THAT IT’S BECAUSE OF PROJECT SUPER SECRET. YOU NEGLECTED THE ISLAND FOR SOMETHING WE DID NO—-

If you want to read my full rant on the game, click here.

I think something could possibly be learnt from this list. And I’m telling you, if Club Penguin wants Project Super Secret to be a success, they better learn quickly.

    Thank you Club Penguin

I know I made a post over 1000 words long criticising you, but I think we all ought to remind ourselves of how much Club Penguin has positively impacted our lives. You know, a few days ago, a popular retired-ish blogger (it’s confusing. Semi-retired blogger) known as Trainman1405 posted this image.

cvwsz32wgaemnwpIt made me realise how much Club Penguin has actually done to us. Pup1one’s finale, Goodbye Hello, was also an extremely powerful reminder of this. But I think we don’t just owe gratitude to Club Penguin for helping us with job skills, or entertaining us, or, in some cases which I’ve heard about, help stopping bullying and ending poverty. We also owe them for allowing us to meet others.

Waddle around and meet new friends

It’s amazing how little we know about each other, other than a cute penguin pixel. We’ve recently have some members of our community do voice reveals and face reveals, which I think is very interesting. It’s amazing how little we know about each other in this community, but that we’re still a community. In about two hours (at the time of writing) #CPReunion takes place, and I honestly can’t wait. Old moderators, old friends, old players, we’re all going to be there and I hope to see you there too (Marshmallow, 13:30 PST).

    Happy 11th Anniversary Club Penguin

It’s been a rough three years.

    But here’s to another eleven.

    Parties that should come back

    Hey guys,

Today I want to bring a small discussion on the parties that I think should come back.

First one is “Marvel Superhero Takeoever.” marvelsuperherobyjadforcpmountains

Why do I want this party to come back? Well, this party did not show an appearance in 3 years. Also, in the last one (2013) you could make your own robot and collect the “Robot Hoodie.” If I am not wrong, I think you had to make 8 robots in order to get the hoodie.marvelsuperherocpmountainsI also like the party because you get to be a superhero and save the city or be a villain and take over the city. What do you like about this party? Comment below!

    Second party: Penguin Cup

    penguincupimagebyjadforcpmountains

Why do I want this party to come back? Well, this party came in 2014. It was really so much fun and you get to chose to be on a team. Sharks, Fluffies, Hot Sauce or Squids. I chose Sharks. We could compete with other players, get points and try to beat the other teams, which was fun. What did you think about this party? Comment below!

    Third: Star Wars Rebel Takeover

    starwarsrebelimagebyjadforcpmountains

I like this party because you get to do fun activity’s per day. Also, you get to verse the Inquisitor and you get his lightsaber and costume. You also get to collect the members costume. What do you think about this party? Would you like it to come back but with Darth Vader too? Comment below!

    Fourth party: Future party

    futurepartyimagebyjadforcpmountains

Why do I want this party to come back? Well, you get to transform into robots and even colour your robot in the clothes shop. Also, you get to verse Protobot and try to beat him. The “Penguin Style” was very cool and you get to but epic outfits. What do you think about this party? Would you like it to come back? futurepartycatologimagebyjadforcpmountainsComment below!

    Fifth party: Teen Beach Movie

    new-teen-beach-movie-login-screen

    beachparty

Why do I want this party to come back? Well, it was last on 2013 and many players had so much fun. You also get to make your own Beach igloo, which is cool.TeenBeachPartyCatologImageByJadForCPMountains.png

Moreover, you get to collect 7 amazing prizes which is cool! I think these items are only for members which is really sad.

    item-menu-7

I like this party because you get very fun activites to do,  meet the mascots, go to party rooms and many more. What do you like about this party? Do you like it? Would you like it to come back?

    teenbeachpartyimageimage1byjadforcpmountains

    Last party: Fashion Festival

    fashion-scren

Why do I want this party back? Well, I like this party because you get to dress up however you want, go to a photo booth, take a picture and people will vote for whoever outfit they like. There is one in the Dock, Snow Forts and the Forest.

    fashionvoteenterchallengeimagebyjadforcpmountains

    Well, these people won. Congrats

I hope you enjoyed this little discussion. And as always, waddle on 🙂

Analysing the #ProjectSuperSecret Image in Island Insider

    Hey everyone,

A few days ago, the first ever Island Insider was released! I thought that this video was extremely cool, and you can check it out on the official What’s New Blog! However, there was something that caught my eye. At approximately three minutes and twelve seconds, there’s an image which a staff member is holding. In case you missed it, here’s the image.

    school

From this image, you can see that it looks really similar to the Project Super Secret art style and as such, I’m confident that this is another Project Super Secret sneak peek. However, we can’t really tell much from it because of the size, and the fact it’s zoomed out. That means we can’t really predict what exactly it is. Fear not!

    zoomed-in

This image is much more clear, but before I start making predictions at that actual building itself, let’s take a look at the things round the image. Despite it being really blury, I can make out three of the images around this building. This is probably better shown as an image rather than text.

    image-on-pss1. The Lighthouse

You can very clearly see that the image is the Lighthouse. But why? Surely the lighthouse should be at the beach? Perhaps this hints that the building is in the Beach or to the right of the Beach.

    2. Gameplay

The image looks extremely similar to gameplay which we have already seen. Perhaps this is an idea of the interior of the room?

    3. Welcome Area

Perhaps this room will have a welcome area?

These are all just theories, but I wonder what else there is to know. Let me know your theories!

    Waddle on!

The Way to End Club Penguin Cheating

Cheating has been around for many years on Club Penguin. It’s virtually been accepted and Club Penguin has launched no major crackdown on cheating, not even a minor one. item-adderThe last reasonably successful attempt to catch cheaters was executed in December of 2013, almost three years ago. The problem is, cheaters and cheating programs are becoming smarter, sneakier and more reliable whereas Club Penguin aren’t.

Many believe that the only way to end cheating is to “patch” the program itself, however this is impossible. In fact, I believe that Club Penguin should use these programs to their advantage and as Project Super Secret approaches, the team need to think of new methods to put an end to cheating. But today we are going to talk about a method that could be used to catch cheaters today. It’s a method which is known as “baiting“.

    Can the Iceberg be tipped?

Can the Iceberg be tipped? Well I think yes because there are so many clues that the Iceberg CAN be tipped. So the first picture/GIF will show you that people tried to tip the Iceberg on the Club Penguin mobile app. Is that not cool? I think it is. It would be mega cool if it did tip on the mobile app. app-tip

In a PSA mission Spy & Seek he is talking to Klutzy that he tipped the Iceberg and it was easy for him. Why is it hard for penguins? Check  the picture below.

    Screenshot_2

Well that is pretty cool. Maybe you need a certain colour to tip the Iceberg.

As shown below somebody named @DesktopCP on twitter asked @RocketSnail, “Is it possible to tip the iceberg? If so, how? If it is not, did you ever plan for such a feature? Lets see the picture when @DesktopCP asks the question. Sadly, Rocket can not tell us the secret but its okay. We can figure it out ourselves.

So in the attic there is a photo where it shows the Iceberg is tipped. That photo was first seen in the Halloween party. That is pretty cool. I think Club Penguin will leave us more clues and more then we will find out how to tip the Iceberg.

So while browsing through some Club Penguin video I found one about Disney Mix. While watching it I saw this on Megg top “I know how to tip the Iceberg.” That is so cool. I wish we knew how to tip the Iceberg too!

Rocketsnail (Lance) is once again asked, “One year ago you told us it was possible to tip the iceberg on club penguin. Have you received anymore information since then?” He replied, “It is still possible to tip the iceberg, but it remains a secret.”

That is what I have for today. I hope you enjoyed reading the discussion. If there is something I missed comment below and I will sure to update the post. Until next time waddle on!

The State of Club Penguin (Dear Club Penguin…)

    Dear Club Penguin,

Club Penguin has been the game of so many childhoods. When I joined seven years ago, it was perfect. The parties were memorable. The community who I met Save the Club Penguinin 2013 were amazing. This was the best game ever. Now, let’s fast forward to today. Club Penguin is just a business with a million problems which are being completely ignored. Nearly every decision, from two month long parties to an extremely poor effort to take cheating seriously and to the nail in the coffin, and the reason I’m making this post, Project Super Secret. Maybe I’m missing something and just being unreasonable but this isn’t remotely close to what I thought would happen two years ago.

Heck, you would’ve thought the team would have learnt from the #SavetheClubPenguin protests in 2014. They haven’t. Now look at today. It’s ten times worse.

Thanks to Saraapril for this image!
So, let’s start with takeovers. There’s nothing wrong with them. We loved the Marvel Superhero Takeover and the Star Wars Takeover, but when you’re bringing us 3 takeovers in a row, not even mentioning the fact that they last for two months, then there is something wrong. Is it just me or are FANS, yes, fans, are currently designing better rooms that Club Penguin? I don’t doubt their talent. That’s the reason we expect so much from them, because they have proved they can deliver amazing content. But the rooms are undecorated, left empty with the EXCUSE (not even the reason) that they were working on Project Super Secret, which we’ll talk about later.

I miss old Club Penguin, I really do. I miss those welcome screens on the right. But times have changed, and we have moved on. However, change is meant to be good. I ask you, who here (other than Dj Stores) actually prefers this new game in which the target audience is on average, nine years old? Club Penguin wasn’t designed to be create for kids. Even Rsnail said:

Want to learn a little secret about Club Penguin? I didn’t make it for kids. I made it for anyone that loves imagination.

Club Penguin is a world full of adventure, mystery and delight. You can be anything you want to be. A pirate that sails the seven seas, a thief that robs the pizza parlour, a ninja that masters an ancient legend, a secret agent, a barista or even an army that wages war on this little snow covered island.

I do not create kids games, I create games that kids can play. Club Penguin is for everyone

This was true. But why did Disney choose to switch their audience? Why are the parties LITERALLY logging on every day for a few minutes to click a few club-herbertthings. I thought they were meant to be challenging, which is what made them “educational”.  I seriously think one of the main reasons for Club Penguin losing popularity was because they changed the age of their target audience. Club Penguin (I know you’re reading this – you better be anyway), have you forgotten Operation Blackout? You a put an entire year into that party and it was an entire success. Recreate that formula.

Time + Effort + Plot + Challenging Activities + Design = Views = Money (which is all you care about, right?) = A better Club Penguin for players and Disney alike

Operation Blackout ticked all those boxes and as such, it was the most popular party ever. If you can replicate that, even on a smaller scale, you could even get away with a two month long party too. Why do you think so many people, even Riyita, keep bringing it up?

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a big blogger, but when you’ve got people like Trainman1405 considering quitting a game which he has blogged about for many years, then there’s something wrong. However, I am part of the community (no matter what Dj Stores says), and I do hope you value our opinions. Megg promised that after Frozen, things will pick up and I really hope they do.

We’ll never get old Club Penguin back. It doesn’t matter how many protests or riots we create, it just won’t happen. But please don’t forget about the things which have made our game go on for over a decade. Don’t forget why our game is still here, and if I want to be really harsh –, actually, you probably know what I would say here and I don’t want to sound rude. I’m upset that Club Penguin is closing, but please carry these things on to the “new game” which we will talk about later.

bug huntingBugs, cheats, bots, exploits, you really just don’t seem to care. There are over 300 pages of bugs written on Trainman1405’s blogs, but the difference is, back in the day they would actually be fixed. You asked us to give you a list of bugs in mid-June. There were so many bugs written on that post. We did our part. It’s been two months, and I ask you how many of those have you actually taken the time to fix? I’m far from a game developer, but you’ve fixed bugs quickly and efficiently in the past. Why not have one person from your technical support team just work his/her way through the comments of that post and fixing the things that need to be fixed? I get that times are tough, but seriously, that bug where you click the safety survey and your screen freezes has been there for YEARS and don’t even get me started on the friends list. That’s just one of the many bugs on our island.

Oh, and cheating. This is a very…interesting topic. I’m not going to lie, however I conducted sort of an experiment on cheating. I called Club Penguin explainingdj stores botting again to them that I cheated. You literally didn’t even ask for my penguin name but instead said “don’t do it again” and hung up on me. Let’s skip back a few years ago, to when I really cheated on my main account. I told you guys, and you investigated the account. The day I got that response was the day I got banned. How come, when you’re getting reports, you ignore them now but you never used to ignore them? That is not right. Heck, you even have people who you know cheating. Like, I know you have a small team and you’re the creators of one of the best virtual worlds, but you advertise yourself as a safe place to play, even though there are Nazi symbols on popular places. I’ve talked about bots in the past, and I thought you would be on to them, just like you were when there were new exploits in 2014, but how wrong I was.

And the last straw, and the reason I’m making this post, Project Super Secret. In 2013, when Project Super Secret was announced, we were all excited, no doubt, but there wasn’t anything necessarily “wrong” with the game. I loved 2013, not going to lie. So we were wondering what it was. A few weeks ago, Spike Hike announced it was Disney Mix.

    .

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. You mean, you’ve been using the excuse that the downfall of the island would be worth it for a messaging app. I am extremely glad it’s referring to the new Club Penguin, but when was this change made? If you tackled the riots in December 2014, I wouldn’t have to be writing this right now. Anyway, let’s give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you began developing the new Club Penguin in 2013.

Was it worth it? That’s the question I ask you. This risk is such a big one. Couldn’t you be happy with what you had? Couldn’t you be happy with the wonderful times and memories which we shared in 2013? Why did you ask for more? Not to mention Club Penguin is going mobile-only. Actually, let me mention that there has been one day in 2014 where there were more players on mobile than there were on a computer.

Let’s start of with losing all our items. This was outrageous, but do you want to know what really makes me mad? You never told us until August 2016. Why? Did you want people to continue buying memberships without them knowing what’s about to happen? We should’ve known. We should have known.

Club Penguin is a live service and can be discontinued at anytime.

That is literally all we knew, and it was small-text. Did you really expect us not to be upset? Of course we’re upset! I dare to say that had you have told us this last year, you could have saved a lot of disappointment and anger. Oh, and thanks for giving us Project Super Secret sneak peeks. For once I agree with a racist person, smaller bloggers do deserve something. I’m not saying that so I get more views, I’m saying that because I’d get acknowledged. I’ve literally lost my motivation to blog, which is part of the reason I’m no longer creating about 20 posts a month. In 2013/2014, I used to have Polo Field following my blog. I felt as if I was actually being heard. For god sake, if I didn’t send this to you, would you really be reading it? It’s shocking when COMPANIES are interacting with us more than you. Oh, and we were hoping that the launch of Disney Mix would mean more interaction, in case you were wondering.

You need to clear up Project Super Secret. You need to make a post on the blog about it and come more clean. Because at the moment, here’s how I see it. I see that you have completely neglected our island under the excuse that you’ve been working on something that has been delayed by a year. I see that you’re going to mess Club Penguin up. You need to go on the blog, and you need to do a survey. That’s what Club Penguin needs.

    • How old are you?
    • Do you prefer mobile or desktop?
    • What would you rate the following parties

Because if you don’t believe us, hopefully you’ll believe your own research and statistics. This is only a quarter of what I have to say about Project Super Secret but you probably know what we have to say.  Why does it take me to explain it to you? 1001-(Marketing)-BullyPrevention-Billboard-Web_2-1412189283-1My question to you, Club Penguin, is why you chose to neglect our island. 2015 was the downfall. It really was. I struggle to say this, but if I was Spike Hike at the time, I would have not created Project Super Secret. You already have the app and desktop version. But it’s happened, so let us just hope for the best as I’m talking about a game which hasn’t even finished the development stages yet.

Oh, and going back to the community, thanks for “passing these ideas on to the rest of the team” and thanks for “investigating these issues”. Do you actually do that? Do you really listen to the players? Let’s be honest, the younger audience didn’t ask for a Frozen Party for the third time. Agent HushSomeone pointed out how kids were more likely to comment on the blog than send in an email and there weren’t “hundreds” of comments on the blog to return the Frozen Party. I really hope Megg’s promise (the rest of the year will be good) is true. I also hope I get a response, something more than just another copied and pasted reply.

I’m busy criticising the game and you might be thinking “the community makes our game the game it is”. A few years ago, Spike Hike retweeted this tweet. It’s no longer what “we make it”. Now the team decides, and they’ve been making some really terrible decisions. How are we supposed to #SavetheClubPenguin when we’re not even being heard? I’m not even sure if you’re going to just print out a copy and pasted reply and send it back to me. Address these concerns, please.

And you’re also probably thinking, wow Torres, you must really hate this game. Well, no! I freaking love this game. That’s why I’m making this post now. I’d just hate to see it dismissed as one of Disney’s many mobile apps because Club Penguin is more than just that.

    Yours faithfully,
