Club Penguin Rewritten Issues Statement Regarding Disney’s Intervention
Following the intervention and statement from Disney and the confirmation by the Metropolitan Police of an arrest of a team member who had used Club Penguin Online for horrible things, the Club Penguin Rewritten team have released a long-awaited statement about their plans.
In it, they confirm that there are currently no plans to close.
We’re happy to hear Disney has stepped in to protect the safety of young and vulnerable people from being targeted by a criminal who was running a copy of their defunct game as another CPPS.
Club Penguin Rewritten has no current plans to close but we will be monitoring the situation for any further developments and will inform the community of any updates as soon as we can.
-Club Penguin Rewritten administrationFor context, the British national broadcaster are reporting that Disney has posed an ultimatum to servers to either close within a set deadline or face legal action. It’s welcomed news to hear that Club Penguin Rewritten isn’t closing, although it’s really a mystery what follows next.
Once again, I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Club Penguin Rewritten has Closed
The moment that we have all dreaded has finally happened, Club Penguin Rewritten has permanently closed. 1,874,992 penguins, 13 amazing months and so many memories later, the experience has partly ended.
When trying to go onto the website now, you will see this heartwarming message.
Every server was full leading up to the moments before this, including safe chat servers. I was lucky to get onto Beanie, Cove before the game lost connection at exactly 14:00 Penguin Standard Time.
It’s a very emotional time for many now, and I am absolutely devastated, but you’ll hear more from me soon. I just felt like I quickly had to make this post. Club Penguin Rewritten has been the perfect game to play and to blog about, and I will definitely miss it.
Waddle on,

Club Penguin Rewritten is NOT Closing!
Great news everybody, Hagrid has joined the team back and Club Penguin Rewritten will not be closing anytime soon! The entire community is thrilled and relieved by this announcement which Codey posted a few minutes ago.
I will immediately begin to start creating Club Penguin Rewritten pages now, but this news is amazing and a huge relief to know that the game will be continuing for much longer! Thank you so much to the staff of CPR!

CPR Community Manager: “It won’t close”
As many players are confused about the ongoing situation (including myself, to be honest) I will be keeping you updated with the information that is being shared.
A few minutes ago, stu, the Club Penguin Rewritten community manager, said that “it won’t close” and reminded us to “stop planning a funeral when it isn’t fully announced”, claiming that he would “bet his dark soul it won’t close”.
I will continue to keep you updated with the facts of the situation and what the Club Penguin Rewritten staff members are saying during this very concerning and confusing time for the community.
Waddle on!

CP Rewritten “Most Likely” to Close Next Week
In the last two days, Club Penguin Rewritten players have been concerned that the game would be closing after Hagrid and Joee left the team, leaving the game with one developer and no artists.
Update:Â Sorry! It turns out Joee has not left Club Penguin Rewritten
Codey, the owner of the game, has said this about the possible closure.
Club Penguin Rewritten will most likely cease it’s existence by the end of July
This news has understandably concerned the vast majority of the community, including myself. To see a game that is one day thriving then the next without artists is awful so I am really hoping Codey manages to keep this game, our game, going.
I will try and keep you updated with this major news but it is possible that his decision could change. Until this decision changes, I have delayed my original plan of officially stopping Club Penguin Island blogging.
Good luck to the Club Penguin Rewritten team,
-Torres 126
