CP Rewritten: Igloo Boundary Limits Removed
A rather interesting change has been made on Club Penguin Rewritten overnight, but it’s one which allows for countless new opportunities when designing igloos. The boundary limits for furniture items in igloos have been removed, which means it’s now possible to place furniture anywhere, including outside your actual igloo.
In order to provide an example, in the image below, you can see an item in the trees and a wall item (the painting) on the floor. This previously wouldn’t have been possible, as wall items would need to be placed on walls, and there would be a boundary as to where all other items could be placed.
As a result of this change, it’s possible to explore a whole load of new igloo designs which previously wouldn’t be possible to do! It also allows for some really chaotic designs too, if you’d like to try that instead.

CP Rewritten: Igloo Likes Implemented
It’s now possible to provide a “Like” to igloos on Club Penguin Rewritten! The feature should be relatively simple to get used to, but whenever you’re in an igloo which you think is well decorated, you can press the Like button at the top right of your screen to express that.
At the moment, only the actual button has been implemented. In future, it’ll be possible to find igloos which have received the most Likes from the Igloo Map, but that second part hasn’t been implemented yet. However, the team have said it will be included in the next update.
This will hopefully inspire igloo creators across the island, and allow you to find some more well-decorated igloos! Thank you very much for reading!

CP Rewritten: Distant Planet Igloo Location Likely to be Available Soon
It has been hinted that the Distant Planet igloo location could be available in the near future on Club Penguin Rewritten, with the team saying that its release “might be closer than you think”. This location has never been available on the island before, but you can see it below! It’s meant to depict the night sky from the perspective of being on the moon.
It’s possible that this could even be included in the upcoming edition of the Better Igloos catalog! There hasn’t been much news on that lately, but as soon as there is, I’ll be sure to let you know. Thank you very much for reading!

CP Rewritten: Igloo Editor to be Improved
For a while, the most commonly reported bugs have revolved around the Igloo Editor. In response to this, the team have now committed to rewrite its code and completely start it from scratch in order to create a more improved experience.
Update – 23rd July: the majority of these changes have now been released.
As you can see below, the improved version of the Igloo Editor will allow you to drag furniture into your igloo rather than needing to click it and subsequently move it around. Some of the other bugs should also be fixed when this change is introduced.
Alongside the improvements to the Igloo Editor, the team are hoping to add animated furniture support with this change; currently, none of the furniture items which would usually have animations actually move. Starting the Igloo Editor from scratch definitely seems like a challenge, and though the team have evidently made enough progress to release the sneak peek above, it’s not yet known when it will be finished.

CP Rewritten: Fair Sky to be Available for Igloos
It was announced yesterday that the Club Penguin Rewritten team would be introducing Sky Decor for igloos! Since then, they’ve provided a little more information about what to expect, stating that designs of the sky available will be changing every couple of catalogs.
[The Sky Decor] will be different every few catalogs; the first theme will be “The Fair”.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorIn regards to what this first theme could refer to, it’s very likely that this refers to the sky which was present during The Fair in 2020, which you can see below. It’s probable that something pretty similar to this will become available permanently when the Sky Decor feature is released.

CP Rewritten: Sky Decor to be Introduced for Igloos
The Club Penguin Rewritten team have released a new sneak peek regarding “sky packs” which are going to soon be introduced! This will be a new feature which will allow people to purchase and use different skies for their igloos; for example, there could be a sunset sky.
It seems that four of these skies will be sold as a pack for 4000 coins. The team said that they hoped this would enhance the potential for more creative igloos, and it definitely seems like an exciting idea!

CP Rewritten: Igloo Likes “Soon” to be Implemented
Last year, the team stated that they were considering methods to introduce Igloo Likes whilst ensuring that they didn’t become too competitive in-game. Their decision has now been revealed, and Igloo Likes won’t be displayed on the Igloo Map! They will, however, be added to the game “soon”.
Penguins, we will be releasing Igloo Likes soon due to [many] requests. This will come with a slight change: Igloo Likes will not be showing up on the igloo maps; this is to remove the competitive feel that Igloo Likes brought in original Club Penguin.
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administratorFor those unclear how Igloo Likes work, on classic Club Penguin, you could press “Like” if you visited an igloo that you found nice. In the screenshot below from 2014, you can find that button at the top right.
Players could then visit an igloo to see how many likes it had, along with who liked it. It’s likely that the feature will function in a similar way on Club Penguin Rewritten when it’s implemented too!

CP Rewritten – HTML5: Igloos & Catalogs
A large number of updates were recently made to the Club Penguin Rewritten HTML5 version, which you can play here. Since it’s been a while, I just wanted to run you through anything which you may have missed.
The main update is that igloos and catalogs (Penguin Style & Furniture Igloo) have been added! The igloo system is different to the Flash version as it’s more modern; you can now have multiple igloos at once, and it’s easier to find different furniture. So far, you can only use the default igloo, though that’ll change later.
The full list of changes is fairly extensive, along with the list of known bugs, but here’s the list of gameplay updates if you’d like to check out:
- Igloos have been added to the game!
- Furniture Catalog is now available for use.
- Penguin Style Catalog is now available for use! Show off your awesome outfits with the now-outdated June catalog.
- The Igloo Editor has been implemented with the “brand-new” AS3 design! You can now create and save up to 4 different igloos.
- Forest room has been added.
- You can now see penguins while editing your igloo!
I’ll continue to try and keep you in the loop on progress made to the HTML5 version, especially as the transition grows closer. Thank you for reading, waddle on!

CP Rewritten – HTML5: Igloo Plans, Hydro Hopper & Buddies
Happy August! Earlier in the week, I mentioned that I’d try to summarise all of the updates to the HTML5 version every once in a while, so I thought that’d be worth doing now since a lot has been added. As always, you can play it here.
The first big update is that Hydro Hopper has been added to the Dock! It’s the second mini-game to be on the new version, along with Puffle Roundup at the Pet Shop. The known bugs with this are the missing string, the fact your penguin colour doesn’t change, missing water ripples and transparency of the boat.
The second big update is the buddy list has been added! It doesn’t currently display your friends from the actual Flash version, but the latest update does allow you to search for friends. This means you no longer need to meet people in order to add them.
It is worth warning that it’s plausible that the Friends List could be reset before it properly launches though.
Improved igloo systems have been pledged by the team for a while now, and they have already stated that the bulk of the reform will be introduced with the new HTML5 version. A sneak peek has been released of the modern igloo system which makes decorating so much easier! You’ll also be able to save multiple igloos.
Igloo likes will be added, but unlike on classic Club Penguin, only the igloo creator will be able to see how many likes they have; they won’t appear publicly on the map.
Lastly, just a small piece of information about the transition from the current Flash client to the new HTML5 one: there will not be a farewell party for the transition. That pretty much covers all of the updates though, and I’ll of course keep you updated about new information as it is released!

CP Rewritten: Igloo Likes Leaderboard Consideration
Some of you may remember from a few months ago where quite a lot of excitement was around for improvements to igloos, including a multiple igloo option!
However, there hasn’t been too many updates to igloos recently, so I thought it’d be worth sharing this new information given earlier today by the Club Penguin Rewritten team.
It reveals that there will be a shift in focus to igloos “very soon”, and also that there were many considerations involved that made implementing a leaderboard for igloo likes difficult.
I think when igloos were our main focus for a bit, we were very scared on the igloo likes option and thought about having it reset like the leaderboard does, to make it fair, etc.
Right now, we have other things we’re focusing on and it’s exciting, but we’ll definitely go back to igloos very soon!
-stu, Club Penguin Rewritten administrator
I’ll definitely let you know as more is revealed regarding igloos; some of the changes made towards the end of last year (eg. the “no igloo” option) were wonderful, as shared in this month’s interview!
