CP Rewritten: Halloween Sneak Peek – Ski Village
Another sneak peek has been released regarding the Halloween Party on Club Penguin Rewritten! This time, the image shared features the Ski Village; you can see a couple of leaves, the back of a mini-stage, and a couple of pumpkins!
One of those pumpkins even resembles Jet Pack Guy, which likely is intended to foreshadow an Elite Penguin Force event in November…

In addition to returning some classic rooms such as the Haunted Mansion, the team confirmed their intention for some “custom” (new) rooms, describing this as their “main goal” for the party.
There’s no precise date for the event to start other than the last week of October, so the party will definitely be available soon! I’ll be sure to keep you updated about any new sneak peeks.

CP Rewritten: Bumper Cars Catalog Sneak Peek
The Fair is due to begin on September 24th on Club Penguin Rewritten, and the Penguin Style will be updated this Thursday with a selection of new items for the event! As part of the catalog, it seems that bumper cars will also become available again!
Earlier today, the team released a sneak peek of one page of the catalog that seems to indicate that the cars will be available in both the light blue and purple colours.

The sky in the catalog also looks gorgeous, and I wonder if we could expect something similar for the actual event…we’ll have to wait and see, but I will keep you updated with any new information!

CP Rewritten: Expressive Grey Puffle Sneak Peek
As part of the upcoming change to the Pet Shop, the Club Penguin Rewritten team confirmed yesterday that puffles would also be receiving an update to a more modern design. Earlier today, the team shared an official blog post addressing concerns, in which they also included a sneak peek.
It depicts a grey puffle with slightly more expression than you may have previously seen!

In addition to this, the team confirmed that the Puffle Care system will be tweaked so that certain stats will go down as you take one action. This is effectively reverting it to what it was before. (thanks Degarmoo for letting me know!)

CP Rewritten – HTML5: Igloo Plans, Hydro Hopper & Buddies
Happy August! Earlier in the week, I mentioned that I’d try to summarise all of the updates to the HTML5 version every once in a while, so I thought that’d be worth doing now since a lot has been added. As always, you can play it here.
The first big update is that Hydro Hopper has been added to the Dock! It’s the second mini-game to be on the new version, along with Puffle Roundup at the Pet Shop. The known bugs with this are the missing string, the fact your penguin colour doesn’t change, missing water ripples and transparency of the boat.

The second big update is the buddy list has been added! It doesn’t currently display your friends from the actual Flash version, but the latest update does allow you to search for friends. This means you no longer need to meet people in order to add them.
It is worth warning that it’s plausible that the Friends List could be reset before it properly launches though.

Improved igloo systems have been pledged by the team for a while now, and they have already stated that the bulk of the reform will be introduced with the new HTML5 version. A sneak peek has been released of the modern igloo system which makes decorating so much easier! You’ll also be able to save multiple igloos.
Igloo likes will be added, but unlike on classic Club Penguin, only the igloo creator will be able to see how many likes they have; they won’t appear publicly on the map.

Lastly, just a small piece of information about the transition from the current Flash client to the new HTML5 one: there will not be a farewell party for the transition. That pretty much covers all of the updates though, and I’ll of course keep you updated about new information as it is released!

Club Penguin Rewritten: Public HTML5 Beta Test Launched (#CPR2020)
For a while now, the Club Penguin Rewritten team have been slowly revealing details about the upcoming HTML5 public beta test. This has now been officially released in a blog post, but I just wanted to give you a run down of what’s going on!
In case you’re unaware, the team are currently migrating the game to a more modern technology. There’s two primary reasons for this:
- In December, Flash (the current technology used) will begin to be retired by browsers. It’s also significantly outdated as it is.
- HTML5 (the more modern technology) will provide the team with more options. This includes mobile support, but they have also confirmed that features such as igloos improvements will be made for the more modern technology. Read more.

Without further ado, here’s how you can test it! You can sign in at the following link on any device, including mobile: https://play.cprewritten.net/2020/
This is really just a test, so a lot of things such as sitting and emotes don’t work yet, and it may feel a bit odd. You can also currently access the following rooms:
- Outdoor: Town, Dock, Snow Forts, Plaza
- Indoor: Coffee Shop, Dance Club, Gift Shop

By testing, you’ll receive an exclusive background! It’ll be added to your inventory automatically as long as you’re not logged in on both the HTML5 version and the Flash version at the same time.
Of course, a lot is being updated and there’s still a while to go! However, it’s pretty amazing to see the rapid progress which the team has made, and the game does play relatively well. It’s also really cool to be able to play on mobile devices!
Above are some more links with more information regarding the HTML5 change, in case you’re interested. I will keep you updated with more information as it’s released, but it’s amazing to be able to finally test it out!

CP Rewritten: Final Medieval Sneak Peek – Hearts
Over the course of the last few weeks, the Club Penguin Rewritten team have slowly been sharing sneak peeks of what to expect when the Medieval Party begins on July 23rd! The first showed some crystals that has been attributed to the catalog, the second shows some sort of darkened sky, and we now have the third and final image!
It appears to depict some hearts and a plus.

Although this is just a prediction, I suspect that it could be a battle, where the hearts show the amount of life left in the enemy. That enemy could be a dragon, but this is just completely speculation and we’ll need to wait until the party begins to know for certain!

CP Rewritten: Second July Party Sneak Peek – Brown Sky?
Happy July! Last week, a sneak peek was released to tease what to expect for the party later this month. It appeared to depict some crystals, but it was very difficult to distinguish what it could be! However, a second sneak peek has now been released, though unfortunately it seems even harder to identify what it features.
The sneak peek is shown below – it’s the middle one, and the one on the left was from last week. It could be some sort of darkened medieval sky; some are interpreting the white bubble at the bottom left of the sneak peek as a cloud, but unfortunately, it’s too early to tell!

The third and final sneak peek on the right shall be released at a later point, and I’ll let you know when it does! It may be easier to make a judgement about July’s party tomorrow, as that’s when the new Penguin Style will be released.

CP Rewritten: July Sneak Peek – Crystals?
Several sneak peeks have been promised by the Club Penguin Rewritten team as we build up to July’s sneak peek, and the first of them have been released on the official blog! It’s just a fragment of an image, and intentionally mysterious, so it’s currently slightly tricky to distinguish what it could be, but it appears to feature some sort of purple crystal.

It’s reminded some people of the Crystal Staff item, and only helped build speculation that a Medieval Party could occur next month. Although it should be noted that stu (an administrator) stated on Monday that the Medieval Party was not confirmed, the sneak peek definitely does give off magical vibes.
I will, of course, keep you updated as further sneak peeks and information are released! Thank you for reading, waddle on!

CP Rewritten: Music Jam Indefinitely Delayed
With all the chaos that has occurred lately, the Club Penguin Rewritten team has decided to postpone the Music Jam to ensure it’s as best as can be when it does finally hit the island.
The party was originally planned for this Thursday, but a new date hasn’t been provided yet and the team isn’t sure when it’ll be released. Furthermore, the original Music Jam page that was on the site has been taken down for the time being.

Although this is unfortunate news since the party looked really exciting with a summer/beach theme, there will be “some type of event” to compensate for the Music Jam’s delay this Thursday, the date on which the party was originally supposed to release!
Once again though, I know the thing on most people’s minds is the status of the game with Disney’s intervention. Unfortunately, I have no further news on this, though I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated.

CP Rewritten: Official Throwback Thursday Blog Series Announced
This post is a little bit different as it refers to something that isn’t happening on the island, but rather the official Club Penguin Rewritten blog! However, earlier today, it was confirmed that a new series will take place on the blog from this week.
Every two weeks, a “throwback Thursday” post will be made, where something from the past will be highlighted.

I’ll be writing a little something [on the blog] fortnightly on Thursdays called “Throwback Thursdays” starting this week
-Halopona, Club Penguin Rewritten moderatorJust to be absolutely clear, this refers to the Club Penguin Rewritten blog – I’ll still only be posting throwbacks on the second Monday of each month here!
It’s been a while since a new series on the official blog, so it’s cool to see another! Thank you for reading, waddle on!
