    Club Penguin Island: Membership Uses

    November 26, 2016 /

In this post, I’m going to share some of the many reasons for why you will need a membership on Club Penguin Island. Beta tester Madzom8ie posted a video about this topic on his YouTube channel.

We can now confirm that you’ll need to be a member to:

    • Wear ANY type of clothes
    • Adventure and use things like the tube feature and the ziplines
    • Buy food or party supplies
    • Possibly access new rooms (not confirmed yet)

This is interesting. I think that the team need to ensure we don’t have a repeat of classic Club Penguin where non-members complain there’s nothing for them. This is worse, in my opinion. However, Madzom8ie thinks that the team will eventually implement non-member clothing, which would be great!

You can read more details about Club Penguin Island membership here.

    Goodbye clubpenguin-island dot com!

    November 25, 2016 /

As you almost certainly know, the domain for Project Super secret has a hyphen (-) in the middle of it. This is because clubpenguinisland.com is owned by someone other than Disney, but not anymore!

    cpisland

Recently, Disney have successfully managed to remove the domain and buy it. I’m almost certain that they are in the process of transferring clubpenguin-island over. One other interesting thing to note that instead of the domain being registered in Kelwona, Canada, it’s been registered in the United States. It’s likely that this will change, however I find that kind of interesting.

Do bare in mind that at the bottom of Club Penguin Island’s page, it says the HQ is located in Kelwona still. Thanks to Orangeee for pointing this out to me!

How to Get the TestFlight Club Penguin Island Email

    November 25, 2016 /

There has been so much confusion as to how the beta process for Club Penguin Island works. This post aims to clarify all of that confusion and explains how the final stage works before you are able to actually log on to the new game. It addresses many issues and concerns players have had in the past week. Anyway, let’s begin!

Thanks to Leeasteroid for allowing me to use this image!
Thanks to Leeasteroid for allowing me to use this image!

Firstly, we need to understand what exactly we’re trying to get. You may already have received the first email but that does not guarantee you the chance to beta test the game. This second email does. I know many people who are excited about getting the first email but they’re still waiting for the next one. So how exactly do you get this email after the first one?

As only 2000 people can beta test the game, it’s unlikely that everyone is going to get one. The easy answer is that you just need to have your flippers crossed. However, there are many false rumours which make people worried about not standing a chance of getting this email.

Some people think that anyone can receive the first email but only those in the United States or Canada can get the second one. As reasonable as that may sound, beta tester Armaasaan tweeted this image.

    cx03_0xukaarr8r

It doesn’t make much sense as to why the team would implement this if that wasn’t the case. However, I know a penguin from the United Kingdom who has used a very…dodgy…technique to be able to beta test the game. He might be using a VPN though, so it’s easy to get round this.

Some thought that on Monday, all TestFlight emails had been sent. I now believe that they are all gone, but recently more players got some.

@Goofbobpants, @sparkflurry, @jack17102 and @MiamidadeCP received the Test Flight Email! Check your mails guys, you might get it 😉

    — Bloxorz/Ryan (@BloxorzCP) November 24, 2016

This tweet was made on Thursday morning, so there is still a chance that you could get the TestFlight email! Remember, open beta testing is coming soon and the beta ends in less than a week!

I hope this post gave you an insight as to the fact that although the TestFlight emails sent might be unpredictable, there’s still a chance you could get one.

Club Penguin Merchandise Bargains (November 2016)

    November 24, 2016 /

    merchandise-bargains

Merchandise for Club Penguin has been endangered for many years now, but after a quick poll, 68% of viewers asked to see a series where we feature some merchandise bargains! In this first post, I’m going to feature two things which I bought recently and somethings that might seem interesting to you. The majority of my viewers come from the USA and then the UK, so as a result, I will be focusing on those two countries. However, you can always check to see if these merchandise are sold in your country! Please remember to ask your parents before placing an order! Let’s begin!

    51avibnvh4l-_sx384_bo1204203200_

Last week I said that I bought this book for £3. I got the last one which was in used (but “very good condition”) however there are still a few on Amazon. If you live in the United States, you’re even luckier, as you could get it used for $2 from Barnes and Noble! A new book is just over £10.

This is no ordinary poster book! Club Penguin fans won’t be able to resist making back-to-school fun with 32 double-sided locker-sized posters featuring their favourite characters. It also includes four postcards and a giant poster that doubles as a textbook cover when you flip it over!

If you’re still not convinced, I will make a post about the book when I get it in the mail!

    UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0448453894

    s-l500

With over fifteen pieces of merchandise for just £9, this item on eBay UK will almost certainly go fast! Granted, it is used, but as most of it are puffle plushes, it can be cleaned very easily! Besides, this merchandise would usually cost a lot more money!

    UK: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Official-Club-Penguin-Puffles-Joblot-Bundle-/172405369708

    51iveefvgel

Okay, I’m REALLY jealous that the United Kingdom doesn’t get this item, but America can buy the Club Penguin globe for less than $8 (£6)! Most fans would love to have this, as it comes with a stand. This means that you are getting a globe of our snowy island, which would look fin-tastic on a desk or a shelf!

    US: https://www.amazon.com/Disney-Penguin-Esphera-Eshpera-360/dp/B003TOHR28/

UK (not really cheap but thought I’d just include it anyway): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eshpera-360-Disney-Penguin-Esphera/dp/B003TOHR28

    s-l500-1

Ever since I shared my Shadow Guy pin, many players have wanted one as well. The seller who I got mine from has uploaded some more for less than £3. Although it is used, it comes just like it was new with great packaging.

    UK: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Disney-Pin-Badge-Club-Penguin-Mystery-Series-2-Super-Hero-Penguin-/222268479812

Are you planning to buy any of the merchandise featured? Maybe you would like to see some changes to this series? Let me know!

    Club Penguin Island: Party Supplies

    November 24, 2016 /

In the October update, we were informed that many “party supplies” had been developed. However, at that time, we had no idea what that meant. In today’s post we are going to take a more detailed look at them, including screenshots, thanks to my good friend Riyita!

These images from his gameplay video (which I shared yesterday) gives us a good idea of party supplies. There will be a shop selling them in most rooms, including underwater rooms. They will cost a certain amount of coins to buy and you can unlock more party supplies as your progress through the game. The star with a number means that you need to be that level to unlock it.

These then go into your inventory for you to use how and when you please as we can see from the top two images.

My only question is, what is the use for these? Are they designed for you to host your own party, then use them, or will there be missions incorporating them? If there aren’t missions requiring you to buy them, I currently don’t see the use in purchasing them. However, one things for certain. They look amazing!

Once again, thank you to Riyita for these images! You can check out his blog here.

    ‘The Club Penguin Party Formula’

    November 22, 2016 /

Hello penguins, Duck here. And today I will be looking at what I’m calling ‘The CP Party Formula’. Think of it as a way that the club penguin team would make a party, certain criteria if you will. Of course this probably doesn’t really happen, but it’s a different way of looking at the eras of the game.

    2005-2006

Back in this era, the decorations for Club Penguin parties was only drawn by Screenhog, as the team was so small at the time. I’ll use the Christmas party 2005 as an example. This party had a few objects and items that you would relate to the time of year. At the Ski Rink, there was a Christmas tree with a few presents around it as well as a snowman. The first parties on Club Penguin had a few touches here and there that didn’t take away from the room. But seeing as the Ice Rink can already be seen as festive, let’s use another room. The Town had fairy lights hanging from the buildings, a tree, a candy cane, a lamppost and my favorite feature- The Night Club lights changed to green and red. My thinking is that Screenhog kept to limited items because parties were being introduced and it wouldn’t be fair to suddenly to transform the island for a new game.

The Ski Rink at the Christmas Party 2005
    christmas-party-05-town
The Town at the Christmas Party 2005

A similar idea goes for 2006, limited items that would summarize what you would imagine when you heard the party name. For this year, I’ll be looking at the Summer Party. The main difference between 2005 and 2006 decorations is that some rooms may have a different purpose to what it is with the regular-looking island. Take The Night Club, normally you would dance here. But not at the Summer Party, instead it was a swimming pool. And the less major change was a few more decorations.

    summer6

    2007- 2008

In this era of the game’s history, the decorations become more in depth, quite literally. Take the Camp Penguin party, for example. Throughout the island, a path was created that was really snow shoveled, however this was a really cool attention to detail. At the Cove, a waterfall was added, giving a lovely natural feel. This is an era in the game’s history where the room started to feel more ‘transformed’ rather than decorations. And if there are decorations, they’re a lot bigger and constructive. A good example of this is the 3rd anniversary, The Town was transformed to look like New York but the Night Club looked like Rory came along a worked on it for a few weeks.

    3rd Anniversary Town

    3rd Anniversary Night Club

    2009-2011

Club Penguin took it one step further in the next three years after. The decorations became more extravagant and the transformations were more detailed and even breath-taking! The Adventure Party of 2009 is a perfect demonstration of this. The Night Club had so much detail packed into one room. The texture of the wood and the statues gave it a real Tiki-vibe, really showing how Club Penguin parties can put you in the spirt of the theme of the party. But the best thing is, these types of rooms don’t take away from the original room. But my favorite room for this party, was the Pool. It’s amazing how the team transformed a room that you don’t go to that often. It looks like a completely different game, or something out of a movie. This carried over to The Journey….

The Night Club at the Adventure Party 2009
    adventure-2009-pool
The Pool at the Adventure Party 2009

    2012- Present (2016)

In November 2012, 4 years ago, Club Penguin went through the biggest change in its history thus far- The Journey. Not only that, but 2012 was the year that introduced takeovers. These two significant changes to the game switched about this formula.

Takeovers came first, with the Marvel Super hero takeover in June 2012. Instead of decorations or smaller transformations, this brought nothing any penguin had seen before. Rooms such as The Stage and Snow Forts weren’t even recognizable and it made us look at the way parties are made and thought as in a completely different perspective. It was almost as if the island of Club Penguin was the movie or TV show in some of the takeovers. On the other hand, some takeovers such as the Frozen Party in 2014 had rooms were it was themed, similar to the past parties. So this era of the game had a mixture of old and new, the formula was to keep parts of the ‘old CP’ era and to add parts to go along with The Journey.

    marvelforts
The Snow Forts at the Marvel Superhero Takeover 2012
    marvelstage
The Stage at the Marvel Superhero Takeover 2012
    frozentown
The Town at the Frozen Party 2014

And for parties that aren’t takeovers, the team vary on rooms being transformed a bit, a lot or decorations. Looking at the Puffle Party 2015. Rooms such as The Town, Plaza and Beach are changed to look like a Puffle version of each of the rooms; the rooms like The Cove and Snow Forts were changed completely to look like a water park or treetops. And then there’s rooms that have a few decorations, like the Ski Village.

    pufflecove
The Cove at the Puffle Party 2015
    puffletown
The Town at the Puffle Party 2015
    puffleskiv
The Ski Village at the Puffle Party 2015

To conclude, over many eras the ‘formula’ for Club Penguin’s well-known parties have seen many changes. It started off as ‘add a few decorations to match the parties theme’; ‘add detail to the rooms to feel like you’re in a certain place or celebrating a certain event’; ‘change the room’s style completely to celebrate the party feel like you’re somewhere else’; and finally ‘to something different (and unique) with each room and party’.

Thanks for reading, this post has been a joy to write!

Club Penguin Island Commercial Review & Marketing

    November 22, 2016 /

    commercial-review

With the launch of the official Club Penguin Island website, we’ve seen an official advert. In this post, I’m going to give me thoughts on this and what I think the team will do when it comes to marketing the new game. I’m sure that we’ll see this advert on TV and online. In case you’ve not seen it, here is the commercial!

I think that this commercial is absolutely fantastic! It shares some of the many things which you’ll be able to do on Club Penguin Island! However, the interesting question is whether or not Disney will be satisfied with the audience they currently have on Club Penguin or if they will try to expand that audience. I really hope that they try to expand that audience and I think that they will.

It doesn’t make sense to invest so much time in Project Super Secret if Disney are going to ignore it. However, they’re not ignoring it. I don’t think that many of us would have expected them to create a pre-registration page, but they did! Not only that, but they’ve put Club Penguin Island as a separate topic on Disney Help rather than regarding it as just another app. However, how much money will they put into advertising?

A few years ago, I remember seeing a Club Penguin advert on Disney Channel. There have been a large number of Club Penguin adverts on there and now it’s been completely revamped. I can’t imagine Disney ignoring the opportunity to advertise the game! Not only that, however the team have made some smaller adverts.

    smallerads

These adverts are 19 seconds long, so it wouldn’t be as expensive to advertise them. I think that the reason why they chose to just split up the main advert into many different smaller videos is because they want to advertise the smaller versions. I can think of no other reason why they would do this unless this was the case.

The interesting thing is what is Club Penguin Island’s budget because Club Penguin’s one wasn’t very high. If it is high, which it seems like it is, then Disney must have really good hopes for the new game. Is that a good thing? Absolutely!

Make sure to stay tuned to Club Penguin Mountains for the latest CP Island news!

I absolutely love the Throne Room! The underwater section of the island looks absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait to play it soon! You can check out Riyita’s blog here! In case you missed it, you can see his first video and a short interview with him here.

Club Penguin Island Beta Testing Ending Next Week then Open Beta

    November 22, 2016 /

Yesterday I made a post confirming that the beta testing of Club Penguin Island would end no later than the 17th of January but I made clear that Disney could end it anytime before this. It turns out that they’ll be ending it on the 1st of December.

Subhi2012 kindly posted this image which confirms that the beta testing will end on the first day of December. Not only that but it also shows that “game progress and items obtained will be lost”, meaning that everyone will start the game with nothing.

Furthermore, we have some exciting news shared by Madzom8ie. It turns out that there will be an open beta though we don’t know when this will be.

The same moderator said that it would be coming “soon”, so I’m not sure when this will be. I would not be surprised if it was in December, but my guess is January.

    No More Spaces in Usernames

    November 21, 2016 /

    nospaces

Club Penguin Island cannot have spacebars or characters in usernames according to Clara who is part of the game’s support team. This is a very surprising change, however I am sure that there is an important reason for this otherwise I bet the team wouldn’t have made this happen.

Update: Many viewers have sent me images proving that this isn’t true. I’m not sure why I received this email, but this is a bit confusing and strange.
