Club Penguin Island Beta Testing Isn’t Over

    December 7, 2016 /

Could the geo-beta in Australia and New Zealand be coming soon? The closed beta testing for Club Penguin Island was originally due to end on the 1st of December, then the 5th and recently it was announced the 6th. Well, it turns out that multiple beta-testers are still able to play Club Penguin Island.

Wait... I still have access to Club Penguin Island! What about you guys? @RiyitaCP @Madzom8ie @Chilly0ne @Penny2415 @nachozrule

    — Bloxorz/Ryan (@BloxorzCP) December 7, 2016

I’m not sure if this is intentional, but if it is, this is definitely frustrating to the vast majority of players. The fact that beta progress will be saved means that if the beta testing doesn’t end, testers will have a huge advantage when the game launches.

This could also suggest that closed testers can play during the geo-beta which might be very soon! Be sure to check Club Penguin Mountains often for the latest news on the beta and the game itself!

The Club Penguin Island Beta WAS NOT Randomised

    December 6, 2016 /

In this post, I’m going to explain why the Club Penguin Island beta could not possibly have been randomised. In fact, (as of July 2013 – bare in mind we’re know in 2016, almost 2017) there’s less than a 0.0000055% chance of it not being random. Yes, I didn’t make that up. Let me explain.

Twitter has been a great source for finding out information about Club Penguin Island. At the top of my head, I can think of 11 people in the Twitter who got the beta email and the TestFlight email. Remember, this is just me trying to remember.

    1. Riyita
    2. Madzom8ie
    3. Bloxorz
    4. Penny2415
    5. Quester
    6. OrangeCP
    7. PocketPenguin
    8. Jess0426
    9. Nachoz Rules
    10. Chilly0ne
    11. Armandajedi

Alright, so as of July 2013, over 200 million accounts have been registered on Club Penguin. Spike Hike has said in the past that the vast majority of players are from the United States which, along with Canada, is where you have to be to be able to test the game, though others who aren’t from these countries got the game using other methods. I’m not going to deduct from 200 million because more accounts would have been created over the course of three years.

Only 2000 people got the chance to beta test in the closed beta. At least 11 of those are from our community…out of over 200 million. The chance of that happening is 0.0000055%, meaning that it’s EXTREMELY unlikely. However, if that’s not enough for you, let’s investigate a bit more into this matter. I want to make clear that I don’t think anyone should have their beta-testing powers removed but this is interesting.

It’s interesting to note that a few (nowhere near all) are in contact with Megg through direct messages on Twitter. Some have even interviewed her and others have received exclusives from her for their blog. I doubt that this is a coincidence…

Anyway, let’s look at this realistically. If the TestFlight email was sent out randomly, who’s saying that a bunch of bots received it? That might suggest that the beta interest email was random but again the chances of so many players in the community receiving it is just so low that it’s almost impossible to think that the beta selection was not random.

On the topic of fairness, some players have exploited the system to be able to test the game when they didn’t even receive the interest email and they don’t even live in Northern America. That’s really fair, isn’t it Disney? Yes, I’m still mad over the beta selection.

Club Penguin Island Beta Testers CANNOT Complete All Quests

    December 6, 2016 /

The community is still angry over yesterday’s news to do with the beta however it turns out that beta testers cannot do everything! As you may know, Club Penguin Island has a sort of “story mode” built in where Rockhopper and Aunt Arctic can give you quests to do along with Daily Challenges.

Although beta-testers can finish the few episodes Aunt Arctic has set, they cannot finish all of Rockhopper’s. These tweets by two beta-testers tell us this new piece of information.

    Sadly no

    — Madzom8ie (@Madzom8ie) December 6, 2016

Same.. I could only get up to Episode 8. And I only missed one day of Daily Adventures. You started on November 18 as well?

    — Sir Questy (@SirQuesty) December 6, 2016

From the information we’ve been given, it appears that beta-testers can only complete up to episode 8 of Rockhopper’s Adventures. This is interesting but I’m still curious if the team intentionally did this. I guess that after yesterday’s update of beta progress being saved, they don’t want to let beta-testers be too far ahead though it’s looking like they will be.

Be sure to stay tuned for the latest Club Penguin Island news!

Club Penguin Island Goes Against Promises and Lets Beta Testers Keep Progress

    December 5, 2016 /

There has been so much controversy over the beta testing of Club Penguin Island and now I think the team are just messing with us and laughing at us. Over a week ago, I made a post confirming that once the closed beta ends, the beta-testers will have to start from scratch when the game officially launches.

Yeah, I think you get where this is going. Club Penguin Island have broken yet another promise. This email shared by beta-tester Bloxorz kind of explains it all.

    cy77ydyxcaexmvi

“Originally, we said that you wouldn’t be able to save your progress in the game from the test period – but the team has been working really hard to make that happen. So, when Club Penguin Island launches in 2017 and you log in with your penguin, your progress will be there and you can pick up where you left off!”

Where do I begin with this. Club Penguin Island beta testing has already been a disaster – those who really care about the game can’t play it. Everything was better though when it became clear that they won’t be at an advantage when the game launches but now it turns out they will be? Am I the only one getting mad at this right now? Anyone would love to be in their position and when Club Penguin launched, anyone interested could be a beta-tester.

    https://twitter.com/DjStoresssss/status/805884876528484352

tbh, i dont care anymore, i was exited for it but after all what happened? no thanks. Disney is ruining it.

    — Captain Twy #bel (@azerty15) December 5, 2016

It's a thank you to you, but a screw you to everyone else.

    — Tweety (@TweesTweets) December 5, 2016

Wow. I haven't seen members of the community fighting like this for a while. @clubpenguin WHY DID YOU LET THEM KEEP THEIR STUFF!?

    — Waddle On Forever (@TorqueCP) December 5, 2016

Countless penguins have expressed their anger, disappointment and frustration at this situation

The fact is, beta-testers were meant to beta test the game. They were meant to provide feedback and help make the game better. Now it turns out that it wasn’t testing the game, they were playing the game? I don’t even know but I can say this for certain. This beta was horrible and Disney have messed up. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Once again, thanks to Bloxorz for the image provided.

Club Penguin Island: Android EVEN CLOSER!

    December 5, 2016 /

As you know, the Club Penguin Island beta is currently only for IOS. Although we already were told an Android beta was “soon”, Megg has given us this piece of information at her “World Ninja Day” meet-up!

    androidbeta

Megg did say “Android” right before “is” but I missed it! I think that this news is epic!

Club Penguin Island Beta Testing Extended

    December 3, 2016 /

Although the Club Penguin Island Beta Testing was due to end the day before yesterday, the team hosted another huge party last night on the app. This is very confusing since the beta should be over.

However, beta-tester Riyita has informed us that the beta is being extended till next week. We were also told by OrangeCP that there’s a new app version out.

UPDATE: A beta-tester has confirmed the beta testing ends on Monday.

BREAKING NEWS: Beta testing is ending on Monday and therefore no more TestFlight emails are getting sent out!

    — cloudy (@darealarman) December 3, 2016

Next week seems like a reasonable time for the geo-beta to go live however nothing has been confirmed. I reckon that the team will take some time to fix all reported bugs then people in Australia and New Zealand can play. I can’t wait till launch!

The AMAZING Club Penguin Island Foreshadowing

    December 2, 2016 /

Club Penguin have done an amazing job with the Holiday Party so much to the point than many of us have missed something that could probably have to do with Club Penguin Island! In fact, it’s located in the Ship’s Hold on the left! It’s only a map and some cheese but it’s never been there in the past. Take a look at this image matching the images on the left to the images on the right.

    hqsgmxmq

Rockhopper tells beta-tester Madzom8ie that he’s bringing more penguins to the island and suddenly there’s a bunch of maps. Penguins begin eating stinky cheese on this island and suddenly there’s stinky cheese on his ship, The Migrator! That cannot be a coincidence!

This is a technique known as foreshadowing where the team gives an indication of a future event. I reckon that the team are trying to say that we are SO close to be able to the able to play the game! I’m so excited but do bare in mind there will be a geo-beta first.

What do you think this mysterious appearance of stinky cheese and maps are hinting? Remember to stay tuned to Club Penguin Mountains for the latest Club Penguin Island news, whether it be information on the beta or a look at the game itself!

Club Penguin Island Beta Testing Ends…For Some and Defies Rules?

    December 1, 2016 /

UPDATE: Half of this confusion can be explained. Please click here to read the post about this.

Today I spoke to beta tester OrangeCP and I asked him about beta testing as it was due to end today. It turns out that he and multiple other beta testers can still play Club Penguin Island yet I know many people who no longer can. I find this really interesting.

Beta tester Bloxorz also shared this email today.

It doesn’t make sense that there’s a meet up tomorrow when beta testing should have ended today. However here’s where it gets even more complicated and confusing. Due to the team using Testflight, the latest the beta could end was the 17th of January 2017. Despite this, Orange sent me an image suggesting that it actually goes on past this date.

He believes that this is the date when the geo-beta in Australia and New Zealand opens, but that makes no sense because you can’t use Testflight for geo-betas. Whatever is going on, it’s even more confusing than the beta selection process and it makes no sense whatsoever!

I’ll keep you updated on this story!

Club Penguin Island in Australia & New Zealand ONLY

    November 30, 2016 /

    australia

Megg has confirmed in Island Insider that only Australia and New Zealand will be able to enjoy the open beta. This will no doubt anger many players and I am also extremely frustrated at this. There might be a way around this and we will keep you updated along with other Club Penguin Island news.

Club Penguin Island: More Beta Invites Sent Daily & Open Beta Close

    November 27, 2016 /

“More and more invitations are being sent daily”, according to moderator Urban Tailor. An interesting thing to find out is whether this means the TestFlight invitation or the interest email. Bloxorz, the beta-tester who took that screenshot, also found this information “interesting”.
Madzom8ie also shared a screenshot of Aunt Arctic saying that more and more penguins were arriving on the island. I think it’s interesting that the team have decided to make her say that as it’d be no use when beta is over.

The final screenshot is by Madzom8ie and shows that there are three new servers. All of these screenshots suggest that an open beta is approaching us rapidly. The closed beta ends in just a few days and I reckon shortly after that, we’ll see an open beta.

    Thanks to Madzom8ie and Bloxorz!
